| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/28/2006 10:42:13 PM | | A wonderfully romantic thing to do. Joy, your security with your self never ceases to amaze me, why do u live so far away, sigh. But yes candle light is nice and in this day of saving energy its practical too. | |

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/28/2006 10:42:32 PM | | Out of my whole dating experience,,ive been with 1 man who enjoyed having nice romantic candle lit dinners. I dont know,,it seems now-a-days that romance has gone *poof*. There is nothing wrong at all in a nice casual dinner but sometimes tho,,,,dining by candlelight would be sooooooooo nice. :) | |

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/28/2006 10:47:31 PM | My daughter has been married a couple of years now and they have a new baby. Every night, they have dinner by candlelight....it was the normal thing for her to do. Took a little bit for her husband to become accustomed to it, but now he wouldn't have it any other way. It just makes dinnertime seem like a special part of the day....at least for me, even if I am dining alone. I also make sure the television is turned off and nice music is turned on. Kinda gives me something to look forward to each day.
Nosoup....yeah, too bad we're so far apart. :(

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 4:16:37 AM | | from most people I know you will have too make sure they are even eating at the same time for a dinner together. When I was growing up you ate meals together especially dinner but that is becoming rare a lot of times. | |

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 5:28:11 AM | This goes way back for me...Once a week, when I was a teenager and the whole family sat down for a meal, my mom would make sure there were candles burning on the table. No lights, just the 4 of us sitting around the table talking.
Yeah sure, me and my sis always complained about it ("I can't see wtf I'm eating!" or "pass the pepper - no that's salt I think"), but I still think fondly of those days. I'm probably one of a handful of guys that actually does have candles in his place and lights them for various things from dinners to movies.
The last cande lit dinner I had was when I cooked supper on Valentine's Day, and while she may have swooned over everything else, the candles were there during our meal and it did add a very nice touch of class as well as just complete the entire day perfectly.

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 5:35:08 AM | I try to do it once a month with my kids...they love it!
I don't think those days are gone, I just think it's because everyone is in such a hurry these days that they don't want to take the time...JMO

| Candle lite dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 6:37:15 AM | Romance is never gone, but it has to be cultured . . . Too many many folks eat dinner on their knee while watching TV. I would much prefer to sit at a candlelit table with my Sweetie and eat while we enjoyed each other's company. | |
|
| Candle lite dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 6:49:00 AM | | When the days are shorter and it's actually dark outside in the evening, my kids and I always dine by candlelight. We all love it - so simple, but so special at the same time! | |

Not something that I do, but maybe I should start. I can think of one sexy blue eyed man that I would like to have a candle lit dinner with. Hmmmm I think I just might have to make that happen.
Only ever had one man cook a dinner for me with candles, roses and rose pedals all over the table. It was a great evening. But when reality kicked in, it was just for show. He turned out to be a d!ck.

| Candle lit dinners Posted: 6/29/2006 11:36:10 AM | | To me a candlelight dinner is very intimate...I consider it a form of fourplay. I am baffled by those who eat by candlelight with their children or themselves. To me its a romantic act to be enjoyed by adults only JMO. | |
