| Do woman like Guitarists?
Posted: 6/29/2006 11:22:58 PM | I have always heard of this stereo-type that women like guitarists. I understand that a woman will normaly not be interested in a guy becuz he is a guitarist, but is this feat. sexy to women? And also why?

...oh one thought from me, not sure about others but I am not into Guitarists as from time my brother sings/is guitarist in band and had to listen to his constant guitar/bass Nirvana based rehersals at home......for me guy has to have some other skills, other then guitar playing ones  ..........

What's this guitar image you speak of?
Some women do, some don't. Often it depends on the person playing it.
A guy from a band I was in had a corny joke in regards to women, something like, "Guitarists always have their pick". He sucked and couldn't play with his hand too btw.
Hopefully you aren't another one of those musicians out there more concerned with the image than sound. | |

I think now that I'm older it isn't necessarily something I look for, but if an interesting man can carry on a decent conversation, treats me well, and happens to be able to play or sing... that's just a bonus to me. I have had my moments being held in a man's arms and having him sing to me... feeling his arms around me, the sound of his voice in my ear... his body vibrating with it... delicious... mmmmm | |

Women like stars, or heros.
Some of those stars are rock stars and the women like the star boyfreind status and are prrepared to tolerate the time and passsion that he has to put into that guitar in order to become a star.
I actually play accordian (badly) and a few other random instruments from pipes to didgeredoo,.
The best I know of was a friend whos wife made him build a sperate music shed in the back yard. Their argument

I would like to think that women like guitarists, as opposed to NOT liking guitarists. I rarely carry my guitar with me when I'm out and about, though, so I don't have a significant sample size for objective analysis. | |

Posted: 6/30/2006 8:36:13 AM | My last girlfriend told me, after a couple months of going out, that the moment she fell in love with me was when I picked up her guitar, sat on her bed and played Blackbird quietly. I didn't really play it for her, or look at her while I played. I just played it, put it back down and continued whatever we were doing. I had no idea that's what did it. I barely remeber doing it. We talked semi-seriously about getting married, and she insisted that I had to play it at the wedding.
"But I could play something better, or write something"
".....yea.....but then can you play Blackbird?"
Being brown-skinned, I guess at a glance I get written off as just some average brown guy, studying Business management, or I.T.
But when I'm rockin' the sideburn's and carrying a guitar case, I do notice more looks.
Sucks that I can't get that attention on my own, but whatever. | |

I tend to find that those that are passionate about their art get the girls, those that aren't don't. I think it relates to the fact women can see that you have passion and that's important in a relationship. That and those that are passionate about it usually put in the leg work to get good and those that just do it to be cool only put in enough to know their way around the instrument, but never really understand how to use it to express themselves. Either you've got soul and passion, or you don't. | |
