Posted: 7/2/2006 7:56:00 AM | | Well in the past year or so I have found that I am more instantly attracted to guys that tend to be nerdy ya know glasses or just may not dress like most people would or men that are above normal intelligence.I find that Clark Kent glasses are soooo sexy!I thought it was just me but some of my girl friends say the same thing.So tell me do you think nerds are back in style?Or is it just me! | |

I love those teen movies too, with the super nerdy girl with the glasses, but she happens to be ****ing gorgeous, lol. I think in an age where contact lenses are readily available and wearing glasses is indeed a fashion statement now. | |

My friends used to look shocked when I'd tell them that intelligence is a big turn on for me, I'd rather have a heated debate then... well, talk about taps or hockey.
Plus, from my experience, nerdy guys have lots of imagination, love to experiement, and they learn very fast; great qualities in the the bedroom

Posted: 7/2/2006 12:02:41 PM | Hmmm... I think the problem here is that most people seemt o have a very hollywood view of us geeks/nerds. We don't come wearing a uniform, ya know! Most of us have bad eyes.. (probably caused by staring at computer screens for at least 65% of our lives), but we don't always wear glasses. I don't wear mine often because they annoy me.. oh, and I got talked into those damn transitions lenses, so if I wear them outside, once I get indoors, i'm blind for a good 30 minutes wile I wait for the damn things to transition back to "normal mode" again. Buuut, i digress. Nerd-dom... born of an undying thirst for knowledge, if you ask me. We're curious folk, kinda like cats. But we can talk. Uh.. yeah. ;)

I agree. If you look in the forums under, "what do women want" type threads...
hygiene, style, confidence and humor, are probably the top 4 things a woman looks for in a guy.. I would venture a guess that most nerds do not have any of those things..
Most of the "nerds" I know never venture outside at all, usually have very poor eating habits, don't shower as often as they should, could give a darn about a stylish haircut, and have absolutely no confidence outside of their computer programs.
Don't get me wrong, I hope like crazy that women become attracted to nerds... its just been my experience that women are looking more for intellectual hunks than for your run of the mill nerd. | |

I'll admit though, I can be a little geeky - if something fascinates me, I'm buried in books about it, going places to see it, learning about it.

Unfortunately a lot of times they are intimidated by my social habits of dancing, having parties, working out and being outgoing and flirty. :) But the connection is when I sit down to a game of D&D, suggest a syntax change in the struggling VB program, or discuss Faulkner's stream of consciousness. ;)
You're right, hollywood has glammed up nerds. But girls who *really* have the attraction know that behinds the glasses, greasy hair and out of style threads lies an intelligent and often sensual man who goes unappreciated by most. | |
