ANYBODY HAVE ANY RECIPES OF MEALS DONE IN A FRYING PAN THAT DON'T TAKE LONG AND ARE EASY?

I am looking for recipes that can be done in a frying pan and are one meal kind of recipes, I would appreciate it very much if a member of plentyoffish.com would be kind enough to post them on this thread I have started. It would be of great benefit to not only me but I am sure that there are probably other members of this website who would appreciate having them as well. I have been using the search engine on my home page to find websites that offer this kind of recipe for free online but I have been unable to find a website that has this type of recipe or recipes. I am particularly interested in recipes that use ground beef or meat and chicken plus vegetables and are also quick and easy to do, as well as inexpensive.

The reason I want this type of recipe or recipes is because it is too hot at this time of year to spend much time in my kitchen cooking things on my stove or in the oven and I do like a bit of variety when it comes to eating supper, rather then eating salads, etc. all the time.

I would like to thank anyone ahead of time for being kind enough to post a recipe or recipes on this thread I have started, I really do appreciate!

I make curry chicken (a recipe I slapped together) in a frying pan but I use a separate pot to make the instant rice.

Cube some chicken breasts or thighs, fry that along with some onion and curry paste... A few spoonfulls of curry paste. I usually use mild or medium curry paste.

Add a can of "half fat campbell's cream of chicken soup"

Add some tomato sauce....

Add a can of pineapple pieces...

Salt and pepper to taste...

Cook for a bit longer...and...

Pour that over rice. I use instant rice as it is so easy and convenient.

If you want you can also buy some nan bread from the grocery store, heat it up, and eat it with your curry chicken & rice.

Why are people trying to delete both threads? It is obviously an accidental double post. Just get the other one deleted....

I use this recipe all the time and found this copy on the Internet as my cookbooks are still packed away. I have modified it to suit my tastes and you will find my changes outlined in BRACKETS.

My kids just love it.

Fried chicken with sour cream and noodles (aka Chicken Paprika)

* 1 medium onion, minced (optional)
* 3 tablespoons shortening (olive oil)
* 1 frying chicken, cut up (chicken breast cut up into chunks)
* 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour (optional as I find the sauce thick enough)
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1 teaspoon Hungarian paprika
* 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1/4 cup water (only enough to dulite)
* 1 cup sour cream (I use about 2 cups or small container)
* 5 ounces wide noodles (any size I like small)
* 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (never used)

My adaptation below...

(I prepare chicken chunks for frying, mix dry ingredients first. Fry chicken with olive oil and add dry ingredients while frying. Egg noodles prepared in a separate pot.

Once the chicken is cooked and spiced add sour cream to complete the sauce, some water may be needed to dilute sauce and pour over cooked egg noodles.)

Enjoy. The original recipe continues below...

Cook onion in 1 tablespoon shortening until soft. Remove onions from skillet; set aside. Wash chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Mix 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) flour with 1/2 teaspoon salt. Dredge chicken with flour mixture. Brown chicken on all sides in remaining shortening. Sprinkle with onion, remaining salt, paprika, and pepper; add water. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken to hot platter. Stir remaining 1 tablespoon flour into pan drippings; stir until smooth and bubbling. Add sour cream; heat just to boiling point, stirring constantly. Pour sour cream sauce over chicken and serve with hot noodles tossed with poppy seeds. Chicken paprika recipe serves 4.

Another EASY and healthy recipe:

Cube some chicken thighs or breast... Season them up how you like.

Fry them with some onions.

Add some cubed zucchini, fresh mushrooms, LOTS of spinach (as it shrinks quite a bit), tomato, or whatever other vegetable you like... Throw in some cut up black olives - the really big meaty kind... Add more seasonings and a splash of white wine to help steam the veggies... Cover and cook a bit more. Stir in some tomato sauce if desired, and serve over some whole wheat pasta.

when im looking for something quick and easy in a skillet i usually go with either franks and beans or chili, both are quick, easy, pretty well balanced and easy to prepare and i finish it off with a marinated cucumber and tomato salad or a slaw in the summer

My boyfriend and I love food, and we love experimenting with different meals, but we dislike spending alot of time in a hot kitchen. There is one simple meal we make alot and it's pretty good. It's nothing gormet or fancy, but it works.

[bold] SIMPLE RICE DISH [/bold]

What we use:

Sticky Rice
Portebello Mushrooms
Onion
Eggplant
Zuchinni
Peppers
Soy Sauce
Chicken, Shrimp, Tofu (whatever we have available)

Boil the rice while you chop up the veggies and meat
Drop some oil into your frying pan/skillet
Combine your veggies and meat into the pan
Whenever your rice is done, drain it and put it aside
When your veggies etc are almost done to your liking, throw in the rice and add soy sauce.
You don't have to leave it in for too long after your veggies/meat are done, adding the rice just mixes it all together.
Serve in a bowl or plate.

Like I said... it's nothing major, just simple cooking and it's a quick favorite or ours. You can add whatever veggies/meat you want.

[bold] CEASAR SHRIMP [/bold]

This is another thing we make. It can be just a snack or put on rice/noodles for a supper.

Simple: Cook shrimp into your frying pan (thawed is quicker, but you do it from frozen as well), and add some Ceasar Rim spice to the shrimp. You can boil noodles or rice if you like, but I snack on it

*I didn't really know what Ceasar Rim spice was, I found it in his cupboard and tried it. haha.

Hope these are good!

Here is one I came up with today and think it is super. It is so simple that I am sure a lot of people do it, but I just stumbeled upon it.

Ingrediants:

1 lb thn cut boneless pork shops (approx 1/4 th inch think{commonly referred to as breakfast chops}) They will cook fast.

1 Large bell pepper (Chopped Corsely-approx 1/2")
1 Large fresh onion (Chopped Corsely-approx 1/2")
1 small can of portabello mushroom chunks (or a fresh one)
4 pats of butter
2 TBs Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Seasonall salt

Put chops in large skillet, cook approx 5 min, turn, add rest of ingrediants. Cover and Cook approx 5 more minutes, stiring the contents frequently to allow all the vegtables to saute'.
When Veg's are simmered but still a little firm, dish is done. Works very well served with a microwaved baked potato.

here is another skillet idea for pork chops that I love to make. Season 4 pork chops with black pepper and garlic powder. Brown in skillet in a combination of olive oil and butter. Remove and saute a large sliced onion. Return chops to skillet, add 1/2 cup of apple juice, cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes till cooked thru and tender. I like to serve with brown buttered egg noodles and green beans and meat is fork tender.

Well I am very lazy and just a teen. What I make that easy and very tastey is this..

Mr. Noodles
frozen vegtables

boil the mr. noodles.. then pour the water out. put in a bit of olive oil and the vegtable seasoning that comes with the noodles..

In a frying pan cook up the frozen vegtables with any seasoning or oil that you prefer.

Add them together and BAM!

Pan Salmon is great. I do it with a Brown sugar glaze in 7 min.
Melt some butter and brown sugar in the pan. ( enough to give you a nice covering over the salmon when done -this will very on the size of fillet)
add the salmon skin up ,
cook open on med high for 2 min to brown
then reduce to med low and covered for 4min.
serve with skin side down on plate with rice or any dish you like
pour glaze over salmon.
enjoy

I am looking for recipes that can be done in a frying pan and are one meal kind of recipes

Here is an old favourite one that I still make...great for one/two people, less then 20 minutes and healthy. If you prefer meat with it..chicken or beef may be added at your own descretion:

Penne with Tomatoes and Feta

¾ lb penne ------------------------------ Cook in boiling water to al dente.

1 Tbs oil
2 tsp garlic, minced
(also add meat if desired) ------------ Saute in skillet over medium heat.

1 28 oz can tomatoes, drained ------ Add to skillet, cook 4 mins and toss into pasta.

1/3 cup black olives, halved
6 oz feta cheese, crumbled
½ cup parsley, chopped
¼ cup basil, 1 tsp thyme ------- ----- Add to pasta and sauce. Toss again.

sprinkle parmesan cheese ------------- over the finished dish if desired.

Here's one that's easy and everyone seems to love!

brown a lb of ground beef ( I prefer the cheaper one for better flavor )

drain it and put it back on the stove,

add two cans of cream of mushroom soup

add 1/2 choped onion ( not diced ) ( I love onion so I always add a little extra )

1 or 2 6oz jars of sliced mushrooms ( I always add two )

just let it simmer and stir once in a while ( like always the longer it simmers the more flavor )

You can put this over mashed, boiled or smashed potatoes, ( hey, don't want to make potatoes try it over toast or rice )

This recipe can be spit in half with ease!!!!!!!!!!!! Even Mikey likes this one!!!!

Darn, you guys reminded me that there isn't anything in the cupboard... I've just moved (still moving) into the condo. I have 2 single serving packages of Salmon, 2 boxes of noodles with different kinds of cheese, one large can of mushroom soup, a can of asparagus and a can of mixed veggies. Will have company later...
What to do????

My recipe for one skillet besides hamburger helper... I make Momma's Calavasita.
Pork chops browned (any meat can be substituted); add in 1 can tomatoes (Mexican spicy kind)with the juice; 1 drained can corn and 2 sliced zucchini. After the zucchini is cooked till soft... just let all those flavors mix and serve over rice. You may have to occasionally add a little water so as to keep it all moist.

Add some frozen peas or mixed vegetables to this, and it ups the nutrition value. I find it goes best with rice, though mashed potatoes would work, too....

Hello Sweetie, My Hobby is cooking and saute cooking is the easiest and tastiest form of cooking. You can flash fry a piece of Scrod. Just soak it in a little Sherry for 10 minutes, then pat dry and dredge in seasoned bread crumbs. Saute in a hot pan with butter and cover.
Prick with a fork to check for tenderness. It should only take about 7 minutes to cook.
