Posted: 7/11/2006 8:30:09 PM | | I have been a Tony Stewart fan for many years. It started in the INDY thing. I thought WOW! This guy can drive. But evertime I wear my Home Depot hat I thought WoW! Im gonna get my ass kicked. People would come up to me and threatin my well being! I wondered how could anyone hate someone they don't even know! Im a damn nice guy, but Nascar Fans love their favs and hate everyone else. years later I started to hate Matt Kenseth and still do! But I don't know why. Is it cause Matt and Tony swap paint more often than not. I just don't know.. Any answers? | |

If one gets in a scuffle, wither on or off the track, then fine. But just because that happens, i am not going to totally disregard any drivers. Racing is fun to watch and see in person, so cant we all just get along? | |

Posted: 7/15/2006 5:22:13 PM | for fans of an individual racer or team it is always lots of fun to cheer your favourite drivers (sr., jr. and Martin for me) but there is no other motorsport in the world who's fans will stand up for our sport like those of Nascar. most nascar fans have a good knowledge of the other popular forms of racing such as F1, Cart, Indy and even ralleye cross even if they do not know the names of the drivers.
There are a few drivers in nascar that i do not like but it is usually for their tactics of driving, whiny personalities or just their teams philosophy of we'll just outspend and out test the competition. (happens on local tracks to)
I don't truly hate any drivers but some of their fans I really can't stand when i personally meet them usually because they are talking out of their ass and wouldn't know the first thing about a race car other than the fact that it has a fast paint job.
I think a big problem is that many "fans" really know shit about racing in general so they should go spend some time at their local tracks to educate themselves.
I've yet to meet anyone that gave me a hard time because of my Jr hat which is good because i'd surely stuff them into the nearest wall i could see. jk | |

Posted: 7/15/2006 11:19:01 PM | when i see someone wearing a hat or shirt of a driver i don't like, i simply say" didn't they have any good drivers hats left?" with a smile big enough to let them know we are part of the same NASCAR family.
as far as fueled by hate, quite the contrary. where else have you ever been where people can walk through the stands with helmets to collect thousands of dollars for someone in need that could be a complete stranger?!? and the NASCAR foundation? there are so many fans and teams and drivers supporting so many worthy causes that they've created un umbrella foundation! no hate there, just shows a fan can hate your driver on the track, but he's got your back! the racing family takes care of eachother no matter what. | |

Posted: 10/26/2006 2:11:40 PM | I have been a fan of smoke since I started racing watching racing. I have his jacket, hats, shirts, blankets, and yes even underwear with #20 on it. I have been approched about my driver choice, but never threatened. Alot of the time its just a friendly tease, and then we are on our way.
I hate a few drivers, but can understand that some people have no taste in drivers, and accept that fact.
I think that Nascar fans are great, and even if they are booing a driver, at least they have passion. I respect the nascar family.
As for threating... thats not cool. | |

Posted: 7/21/2007 8:52:26 PM | I agree that the Nascar fans are great! I never see fights at the races. it's lots of happy people rooting for their driver to win. They will banter against the other teams and get real loud about the competion and throw some beer cans on the track at Gordon but normally it's a pretty well behaved bunch just there to watch the race. I have never seen people like soccer fans at a Nascar event. They rip the place apart. Soccer is the one that is fueled by hate!!   | |

I get some stuff said to me when I use my US Army #01 jacket I think that ones more politics because I live in Canada and wear the US Army #01 jacket but I don`t mind, I just tell em it`s nascar nothing to do with war.
But watching tv there`s lots of hate for those Busch bros & Jeff Gordon. | |

All I have seen is them throwing some beer cans at Gordon at Talledega. Gordon is disliked because he parked in the middle of the good ole boys of the South and started whooping them at there own game. | |

He has a short fuse at times and he loves messing with the other drivers like always walking up and giving them a shove which in his mind is just fun but a lot of them don't like it. Tony does have a big heart though and does a lot for the kids and actually races R.C. cars with them at sanctioned events near here. He holds a race at Coopers R.C. Track right after the New York Awards Ceremony every year. | |

Posted: 8/12/2007 1:42:48 AM | | First let me start by saying that I know it to be true that all drivers have a fan base thats built on image.If you knew how much time and money is spent on making a driver the one you cheer on or the one you boo at .You and me and half of wpg would never have to work again.As for hate goes,Who do you hate the most?The guy thats winning more than your fav?or is it becouse the team is doing better than all the others?Its no secret that the world of nascar lives of the love hate idea,Just ask any France family member how there last bithday present was.Was it big enough did i spent to much?So to me the hate issue is not that big of a deal,But think back when dale sr lost his life,that goes beyond hate,Marlins getting death threats from sr fans who have lost all proper brain functions,WHY becouse SR was every ones fav.And not to mention the leader if the pac so to speak.So 20 takes out 11,these guys dont hate each other,they wont be sharing any beers any time,but they dont hate other.On track crashes happen thats a no brainer,Now lets make a big deal outof it {meadia},now think back a little bit,remember the image people?how can we make this good for our man?Well thats a easy one.Is your man a top runner or is he a top 15 guy?You can be sure that home depot aint saying No stop we dont want any more air time,the top 15 guy may benafit a little but not like a top five guy is going too.Iam not saying that you need to be a top five guy to have some love/hate going for you.but if you think about when was the last time you heard any body say i hate that david stremme guy?I know that some will not what ive said ,but remeber that weather you hate them or love them there all out there driving with respect for each other.And if you fav driver is doing good than so is nascar along with pr people ,keep that in mind the next time you see a gordon shirt,his shirt you may pay 50bucks for .that top 15 guy 10bucks,So dont hate me if you see me wearing a John Force shirt at the dirt track,no make that a Ron Caps shirt.Just so you know dirt runs through my vains not rubber.thank all who read this and pls no hate mail its just my way of thinking ,good or bad,love or hate it its all good in the end. | |
