The 2007 Stampede runs from July 6 to 15th and tickets for the rodeo and chucks go on sale September 25th through the Stampede website.
If you have never been to Calgary during Stampede, you really are missing out. The whole city gets into the act. Try it, you might like it.

I sure hope you have somewhere to stay when you get here because we are in boom times with no rental vacancies and everything is very expensive right at the moment.

| CALGARY STAMPEDE '07 Posted: 4/24/2007 2:12:00 AM | It's overrated!! And overpriced!!
The pancake breakfasts and fireworks are fun.
Although..... I've got a man-whore buddy who would probably disagree with the overrated comment, and definately disagree on the overpriced one!

I try to make it every year. 3 years ago I was at the Nashville North on a friday night and two-steppin 20 feet from David Lee Murphy as he was singing "Dust on the Bottle"......does'nt get any better than that ! Was there last year but missed George Strait.....dammit.
My kids saw him though. | |

| CALGARY STAMPEDE '07 Posted: 5/16/2007 4:06:51 PM | As I have lived in Calgary most of my life. The Calgary Stampede is a money grabber. DO NOT GO TO IT. Its the same thing year after year. If you like concerts, thats the only thang changes. Nashville North (country bar/tent), or Coca Cola Stage (Rock n roll venue), good bands they bring in year after year. Other then that, I have lived here nearly all of my life. Its a gong show, reason to get drunk. Company right off time. However you from "out-of-town" still want to come. Park at an LRT station and come down to the stampede, book far in advance for hotel, car rental. Do not book tix to see parade, ITS FREEEEEEEE. As I see signs up now, ripping potential people off. However if you want to live in luxery, then reserved seats is a must for you, and you will pay. Other then that watch the parade on local TV in your A/C hotel room. Hmmmmmm shows, etc. Look at the Calgary Stampede Guide, online. I tend to leave the city for another country when July rolls around, I hate the drivers that enter the city, hate the stupidity that comes with it all.
I will see you all in Mexico...............cheers..................OOOOPAAA
