| How many messages a day do u get on average?

1st of all, you may want to review your profile and add some "substance" to it! Remove all the "pitty me" statements, and speak of yourself in manners of who & how you are. That would be a good start.
Women don't want to see a guy who thinks low of himself (major turn off) because it shows lack of confidence in yourself and tells them you're looking for validation as to who you are (as though you don't know who you are yourself & need them to tell you/give approval).
Just trying to help you out a bit before this thread gets deleted!

Posted: 7/25/2006 5:38:57 AM | I get about 6-10 emails a day, but it's because people like my profile. You have to do what greeneyes said. Just make it more appealing to others. Try to sound the way that you really feel - if you are funny, make it funny, if you are sensitive, make it sensitive etc. Avoid any sort of pity trips though - women like confidence in a man.

I also get several in the form of replies from ongoing conversations from some of the more outgoing and eccentric girls on here. | |

And it helps to have a decent profile. Mine's not the best but it's far better than it originally was, and my response rate (while still miserable) proves it. | |

Posted: 7/27/2006 7:11:16 PM | I stay in touch with my friends ... can be up to 20 or more a day, other days none. A lot depends on what's going on in the forums ... that's who I message back and forth with ... my friends in the forums.
I don't do profile searches, so none of my messages go for that kind of stuff. | |

Posted: 7/27/2006 8:39:06 PM | Okay, you've had five in eight months. At what point did you start to question, "Maybe I should do something to my profile to make it a little more appealing".
My suggestions:
1) Better photos...get off the couch! Put a smile on your face...show that you are a fun person.
2) Place something interesting tidbits of information on your profile. Do you like photography. Enjoy skydiving. Have you traveled. Do you like art shows. Do you dance.
Put something like that on your profile, and you will attract people that enjoy the same activities.
3) Contact others...don't always wait for them to contact you.
4) Have a friend review your profile, and ask them what you could do to make it more appealing.
5) Post on the forums.
I get 3-4 e-mails a day, and almost everyday from someone new. I'm no prize...I've been married twice before, and live in little one-bedroom apartment in Minneapolis...but I've never had any trouble meeting people.
Think of it like a job interview...you are trying to sell yourself...to others. | |

Posted: 7/27/2006 10:03:52 PM | Depends on the day. During the week I average 10-14 a day. Fri-Sun 18-25 a day. Of course some is simply thread related stuff from forums. Some days are slower, some busier.

But not getting replys to your messages might be something to think about. Pleanty of Fish....whens the last time you had a fish just jump into your boat? You got to put some effort into it. Cast, cast and cast again and keep adjusting your photos and profile until you find a bait that works.... | |

Posted: 7/29/2006 4:27:46 AM | hotstepper, as stated a few times above, improving your profile will improve your e-mail rate. there are a couple good "profile review" forum threads active on POF....do a search.
a couple quick suggestions...make your interests interesting. list cinema? well duh, nearly everyone likes movies. list a couple movies you like. same with music. having fun? well no sh#t. who's going to list NOT having fun. add more interests with substance. get off the couch...post a new pic. in "about me" section, delete i'm 29 and from birmingham. reader knows that from the info section above. add more to that section about you....basicaly, can use this area to elabotrate on some of the interests you just added. post on forums and your e-mails will increase.
and finaly...man...listen to me and the several posts above. delete that last line in the first date section "only 4 e-mails" "am i that bad."
