Allow user to position MyForums threads
Posted: 7/29/2006 6:04:58 AM
I did a couple of searches, so my apologies if this somehow is redundant.

My suggestion is to allow users to position which threads they want to follow in their "MyForums" list.

For example, I have a couple of threads to which I posted but now have no interest in following. However, they are popular threads and appear at the top of my "MyForums" list. I suspect as time goes by, more & more of these will appear at the top, moving other threads down.

Yes, I know - I could resist posting to threads in which I have little interest, but all my posts are so-o-o-o important.

Just a suggestion.

Allow user to position MyForums threads

Hey, Mods and Admin:

I would like to repeat this request. I have several old threads that are just dead horses that have already been beaten several times long after I finished, but keep getting exhumed and beaten again. Couldn't there be a mechanism to delete threads we just don't want to keep seeing come to the surface? And not to step on the first request, but mine is a little different and maybe simpler--I just want to delete them from my MyForums.

Thanks!

David

You can also click on the link that brings you to your 25 most recent posts.....

Also, your browser has the ability to "bookmark" threads.

Hey, Late!

Are you suggesting these as alternatives to MyForums the way it is? And maybe we should conclude MyForums is not likely to be improved? I can certainly see the advantages of these as alternatives, but the MyForums has unique advantages, for example being able to see who has recently added to a thread, without opening it. I click on things and can go take a nap while it loads! (Well, not really, but you know what I mean!) The MyForums feature is a good one!

Thanks for the feedback!

David

Ok now keep in mind that
1. I'm a new user
2. being a new user I would not ask this question if I could find the answer.

Q; How do I look at all the threads in a particular forum ie look at all threads in ask a girl. so far I have been unable to do this. I would like to go down the list of forums and choose say science & Phylosophy and look at all threads posted on that forum and read them. Sorry for the off subject post I'll get the hang of it with a little help.

this is the main forum index --> Plentyoffish Forums

click on Ask a Girl from the above list, and you will see all the threads listed in chronological order of last posted to first.

at the bottom of the list of threads in the Ask a Girl forum, you will see page numbers, just click on the page you wish to go to.

If you want to search on a particular topic within a specific forum or from all forums

click here --> HOw To Search for Threads of Interest

More answers to lots of questions are posted in this thread at the top of this forum.

click here --> FREQUENTLY DISCUSSED QUESTIONS - PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST

happy posting/Moderator

PS. and yes, realizing that you are new, just remember forum etiquette requires that you post to a thread that deals with your question specifically, if you cannot find an existing thread that deals with your question, just start a new thread.
