Posted: 9/15/2006 6:18:03 AM | I think we, singles in Metairie need a friendship group of singles. We have all been through the ringer with this Katrina, all work and no play! I am "54" SWF and I have lots of friends that would definately like a get together. I think the purpose should be to set up social type activities that groups of singles could go to, whether it would be 10 people going to a restaurant together dutch treat, low key socializing. Love to have a singles tennis club mixed doubles at one of the playgrounds, or a saturday morning walk on lake ponchartrain, whatever. Would be willing to help you organize this!

Dear Friends:
You are cordially invited to attend the May Meetup Singles Event, scheduled for Friday, May 11th, at the Coffee Cottage, located at 5860 Citrus Blvd, in Harahan.
A comedy performance, called the Jodi Borrello Crafty Comedy Show, starts at 9pm, and tickets are $12.00 per person. You are also invited to attend our social hour and to order dinner off the menu from 7-8:45pm. Dinner is not included in the price of the comedy show.
Dress is casual and reservations are not required. Future Meetup events will also be discussed, so please bring your ideas! This gathering is open to all singles 21 years old and up! Guests and friends are welcome to attend!

I know people attend these things....I was trying to make a joke about how difficult it must be to attend on time when the invite arrives months late. Wait!!! That's it!!!! EVERYONE gets their invite late and they just show up anyway the following day and the next thing you know, you have a whole gathering of people...all months late, but all there nonetheless....brilliant!!!!

Posted: 7/21/2007 8:25:33 AM | We only had 4 people show up (I guess the weather was a factor), but we had alot of fun. After Cellars, we headed over to Coffee Cottage, which was followed by a movie.
We are planning on meeting at Cellars again this Friday so you are welcome to join in.

Posted: 8/10/2007 1:22:28 PM | You can never be certain of who is going to show up at these gatherings, but I will tell you this, they will include alot of laughter and fun. This group is focused on being a "social" group, not a "matchmaking" group, which gives a more relaxed atmosphere. We are meeting again tonight, over at Cellars of River Ridge, just look for the table with the "MEETUP" sign, it will be towards the front.
