I have not come across a case yet where I have been proven wrong so I thought I would go out to the fish community to get your thoughts and maybe some real life cases where I am wrong.
Now, my theory is specific. It is men who are single and obtained the cat while they were single. Not ones they inherited from a previous relationship. Is there anyone out there that knows of a man who got a cat while single, and then eventually got married.
I have my own thoughts on why my theory is so true for so many cases, but I will let you tell me what you think. Do you agree, and if so why do you think the theory holds true? If you don't agree ... tell me why as well. | |

Cats are baggage that is effortless to deal with (coming from ME the crazy cat mom of four). Anyone who can't deal with a persons pets isnt worth inviting into your life anyways, even if it is the cats that are the problem. | |

I was actually looking for someone to tell me my theory is wrong ... that there are real life cases out there where a man with a cat got married ... I would love to be proven wrong. I love men with cats .. they are GREAT!
I kind of think that the reason may be that the men expect their women to be like the cat ... and when they are not, then the relationship doesn't work. What do you think .. men ... do you like your woman to be like your cat?

Is there such a thing as a cat park? Lots of people have cats, you'd think someone would of came up with an idea for a cat park. I know this old lady down the street who has 12 cats, she'd love it, LOL.
Anyways, one of my friends had a cat and ended up getting married. Actually, I had a cat from a previous relationship before I got married as well. | |

Posted: 7/31/2006 12:07:49 PM | As a single male with two cats, I find the theory that single men who acquired cat's while they were single will be single forever interesting to say the least. (ask me about how I was adopted  )
While thus far in my life, this "theory" has been the reality, I doubt that the fact that I have two cat’s is the reason that I am single. It may be that men with cats, have grown enough that they are content with their lives, and know themselves well enough that they know when a relationship is and isn’t going work for them?
As for the suggestion that we all go get a dog, please…  we all cannot be that regimented in our lives. Dogs need constant attention. Dare you go away for a weekend and leave your dog alone? I think not. But a cat, no problem, even though they will let you know you left them alone, and they didn’t like it.
I submit that a single man with a cat is the ideal man for a lasting relationship. They are both loving, caring, supporting providers, while at the same time able to provide independence for their partners to grow.

Does this mean that men who own or want to own dogs, whilst caring, require far too much in the way of obedience, control and a regimented lifestyle? This would actually explain a lot to me. *laugh* | |

Posted: 7/31/2006 12:28:07 PM | I know one; dude had this freak of a cat, 6 toes on each foot and about 23 lbs (he named her Lotta, for Lotta toes) he had the cat for about 6 years, and has been married for 11 now; of course he is not the most handsome guy I've ever seen, and she is not the belle of the ball, but they are happy together and she loves that freak of a cat.
