| Where are all the intelligent women?
Posted: 8/1/2006 11:26:58 AM | | Florida is great for alot of things, but I've found that it's much more difficult to find intelligent, well spoken people around here with which to relax and have a decent conversation. It's such a rarity that it's kind of disheartening and I'm thinking about moving out of state once I'm done with school. It's a shame too because besides that one minor flaw, this state is amazing. But why, why, why, why, why is it so hard to find women who aren't ashamed of their brain? Maybe it's the age group I'm dealing with, and people around my age aren't concerned with the same things I find interesting... but still! | |

Posted: 8/1/2006 12:30:02 PM | | you are only 20 so I suspect you are looking in your own age group, and I think most 20 yr old girls are more interested in how thin they can be and what labels they are wearing, which doesnt make very interesting conversation when talking to any one else ..they rarely know geography, history, who their state senator is etc..they dress for each other and are usually mental midgets...try dating a little older say 30 to 40 year olds, I hear that same compaint from many men your age ..women should wise up and stop being so preoccupied with Holywood and start paying attention to whats really important in the world..Good luck... | |

A good portion of the men on POF are looking for the just right exterior appearence forget the conversation. It does however take all types to keep things interesting. Keep searching and you will find intelligence out there; and for you I hope its comes in the size and shape you are looking for. | |

trying to discuss quantum physics or harvesting scallops in season?
There's nothing wrong with the women down here. If you are talking to women who
are chomping bubble yum....you mean girls.
Well spoken? Out spoken? Plenty everywhere.
Dimwits, too. But, that could have been that one extra Margarita.
Florida women are like shells along the beach. No two exactly the same.
Keep that in mind when talking to them. Maybe, you need to try talking about something

Posted: 8/1/2006 5:18:32 PM | someone hit it right...my daughter is 19...she was tested gifted as a child...always bright, but did enough to get by...she got a scholarship to college and flunked out her first semester because she was ''in love''....of course i can't complain when i was 19, i quit college because i was ''in love'' with her father...got married, got divorced, got my degree and then some....
all she is interested in now is the car she drives.... a brand new mustang...funny how they give credit to an 18 yr old with a month on a job and two totalled vehicles....and of course her boyfriend....she plans to go back to school she says when she has money...when will she? she spends it all on insurance, car payments and clothes...and going out...these are her priorities even though she is an intelligent girl deep down....
i've actually dated a lot of guys your age who were EXTREMELY intelligent guys, nerds these cute chicks your age would say....who wanted to be with someone who they could have real conversations with about things that matter...
so i dont think your situation is unique...i view myself as very intelligent, but i bucked the trend...i grew up on the rural side of jacksonville where education is not that valued...my mom was a teen mom and quit school as did my dad and stepdad who are all from the rural south....
unfortunately our society is getting more materialistic...and these young women are being given everything...they don't work for a thing...plastic surgery, labled clothing, cars, huge parties, whatever they want...so i dont think being book smart is on their agenda...
however i'm sure if you look hard enough, u can find intelligent life out there.... | |

I am not ashamed of my brain, it's a pretty darn good one, or I would not be doing the work that I do now. I am disheartened by the number of men who cannot carry on intelligent chat, can only say "cool" when you tell them something, and don't spell out their words. It is also discouraging to encounter the number of men I have met on line who only want to talk about the size of their genitals, ask for sex, or discuss sex. There is more to a friendship or any relationship than sex, and to me, the brain is one of the major sexual organs next to the skin! | |

I've lived all over, and chicks are pretty much averagely dumb as **** anywhere you go... no matter what age brackette your lookin into. The really sad thing is that it's not just the chicks, it's people in general. Most people are just plain stupid. It's not they're fault though, the media has ruled art, intelligence, and geneuis out, because stupid shit is more profitable. The media has trained people in such a way that none of that really matters anymore, and People are just gonna keep buying shit from the shit machine untill the whole thing just breaks down. This ofcourse has had an extremely adverse effect on humanity. Artisticly, culturaly, and intellectualy we are going through a major decline. But it can't go on like that forever. As time advances, so will we. We're not done evolving just yet. But as of the present date, your a classic romantic, who is intelligent. I think I might fall under the same catogory. However, I do admit that most women my age are indeed into fashion and dressing with the fad for that week. I am not.. I just simply dress the way I am comfortable with. That's something you might want to look for. Someone who is comfortable with who they are might be able to have an intelligent conversation with you. | |
