| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 2:35:01 PM | | I tried Google but failed to find any information. I was thinking of tattooing my loves name on my arm. I have a friend who told me he had heard of a guy using his girlfriends blood as the ink to get a tattoo done. Would this really work ? Would a different blood type cause a reaction ? Because it is blood would it break down and be absorbed into the body ? | |

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:03:30 PM | | I am aware of the obvious health risks but am curious to know if there is anything else that could happen other then typical transfer of disease. Even if I were to use my own blood would that work or would it break down and be absorbed into the body ? | |

I would not recomend doing this at any rate- toooo dangerous. Just like it is against the law to drink another humans blood I believe this would also be illegal.
Good Luck | |

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:23:55 PM | thereal_deal, I was thinking that at first too, but tattoos are not under the skin, they are a pocket of ink between the skin which is not like a bruise.
addendum : I guess maybe I'll just go with blood red ink then...and a drop of blood for romance.

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:33:06 PM | I think it's a waste of time.... ink is a pigment that when tattoo'd into your skin stays under the epidermis. It's not a biologically produced liquid. With time it fades, as your body slowly brakes it down (after many upon many years). Blood is naturally produced in the body, and is cell structured. Sure maybe for a few days you'd have a red looking tattoo, but I think the colour would quickly fade due to your body's system breaking it down, and you'd be left with scar tissue.
In my honest opinion it would be like pissing money away. If your going to get a tattoo... get the real thing with authentic tattooing ink, and not blood.
Think about it.... when you've scraped your knee or had a cut... did the wound leave it looking red after it was healed? Of course not.
Same deal with a blood blister... it's not under the skin, it's in between layers, but eventually it's broken down as well.

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:42:35 PM | I am a sweetheart...Its againts the law to drink someone elses blood?
Bloodless...If I were to ever get a tattoo, I wouldnt be putting someones name on me.

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:45:29 PM | kicnbac, I have been warned about putting a name on me but I don't think I will regret it. Even if it doesn't work out it will still represent an era of my life when I was at my happiest and that is something I would like to be reminded of. | |

| Tattoos and blood Posted: 8/6/2006 3:46:22 PM | | I don't think it would work, seeing that while you get a tattoo you bleed, but your tattoo never turns out red. | |

Yes it is against the law to drink other blood that is not your own. It is because of all the blood born illnesses that are around.
I was watching a show recently that had a "vampire" on it and he drank his girlfriends blood for the show, but they had to get special permission to do so and it had to be tested for blood born illnesses before hand. The producers of the show said that because it wasnt his blood it was illegal and they had to jump through alot of red tape and whatnot in order for them to do it.
Pretty scary if you ask me.
