| Renaissance Festivals Posted: 3/9/2005 9:00:22 AM | Does anyone go to Renaissance festivals and if so what's your favorite?
The one in Hammond, LA is very nice; but my favorite is near Flint, MI - the crafts there are awesome and so are many of the costumes.

I like to watch the joust, and the insult guy that you can throw tomatoes at. They have so many things you can do.. I am always down for the bread bowl with the beef stew in it, yummy stuff.

| Renaissance Festivals Posted: 3/9/2005 9:16:53 PM | Love the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I have read that it and one in Texas are almost neck and neck for having the biggest attendance in the nation for Ren Fests. There used to be a guy there named Ded Bob that cracked me up. He was a hilarious ventriloquist.
If you like Renaissance Festivals, check out a band called "Steeleye Span". You will love them.

| Renaissance Festivals Posted: 3/10/2005 10:03:34 PM | Guys, ALL kitchens are digusting. Sheeet, even the kitchens at The Plaza were foul. Just shut up and eat, LOL!
We have a cool fair up-state New York, maybe an hour up. I dig all the crafts folk, first thing I do is have a few belts made up. Then I watch all the crazy SCA guys beat the hell out of each other with wooden swords and maces and such, LOL!
I learned about it in high school when the carpenter who taught me stage craft introduced me to the guy who made his swords. Fun stuff!

I'd never been to one before, but it was a fun day. A great source for very unique items. I bought some chain mail jewellery there that you don't find everyday, and other unique, hand-forged/hand-blown items. I also love the traditional Medieval musical instruments.....

| Renaissance Festivals Posted: 7/6/2008 7:41:21 PM | | Waxahachie, Texas. Not as good since they lost The Flaming Idiots, but their mud show and joust can't be beat. | |

| Renaissance Festivals Posted: 7/6/2008 8:46:39 PM | I went to a Renaissance Fair in Massachusetts called "King Richard's Fair". The crafts were WAY over priced, but nice to look at. Most of the people were really creepy, but the ample cleavage made it bearable. And the music wasn't great, but it was better than country and western.
All in all, it could have been much worse, but I'll probably never go back. I much prefer Burning Man.
