| Instant Magic - anyone else find it?
Posted: 8/14/2006 8:59:20 AM | I met a woman with no photo on here about a week ago, I mailed her, she replied with photos, then we chatted on MSN messenger, then on the phone for hours and hours. We only met on Saturday for the first time, and before she came down the street to meet me, I had this thought, 'The rest of my life is walking down that street'.
Sure enough, once I saw her it was like love at first sight, yet the attraction wasn't just physical, it happened when I read her profile, again when she read mine. Like the stuff in our souls came through the words. The first kiss was magic later that day, and the next day was beautiful as we walked and talked about everything and felt just so perfect together. (that was only yesterday, but feels like we've known each other for ages)
So this was like instant magic, like we were both open to a 'master plan' and the timing was just right, we were both ready, so poof - it happened to us. As we talk, we find out that we are exactly everything we had hoped to find in a mate one day, but never found and started to doubt would exist in any one person. Here we both are sharing the exact feeling.
So has anyone else had a similar experience? I think it's likely rare, other than the physical attraction at first sight, or other situations where someone is needy and get's together fast for the wrong reasons. I'd like to hear of any similar stories. | |

Posted: 8/14/2006 9:17:50 AM | "Instant Magic" happens with more than romance! You meet someone the 1st time and you become instant friends... there is just something that draws you to each other!!
It's a combination of things... personality, they way they express themselves, facial expressions, mannerisms. I can like someone just by talking online (and have formed some very good friendships that way), but the "instant magic" in a romantic way doesn't happen for me without actually meeting them face to face! That's when it all comes together... or NOT!

Took me years to get myself back on track. I am, but the only thing, I’ll never trust anyone’s feelings now. You don’t know that person. It can’t be love. This is just unrealistic. You’re in lust and should learn to make the difference. She could wake up one morning and it could be over. You seem to do the most common mistake that most people do. For one, you may feel the clock ticking at your age. Secondly, you just got here on POF and would really beat the odds should you have met the love of your life in just a few weeks. You have to make the difference between reality and fantasy. It takes a long time for true unconditional to grow and most couples never get there. Which result in all the failures we now see. | |

Posted: 8/14/2006 9:49:34 AM | Just hang on and enjoy the ride. The day I met my late husband, our first date lasted 48 hrs and it was amazing at how well we both clicked with each other. We spent most of our free time together and six month later were married. I can't say it was perfect, but it was as close as you could get. We had our fights and ups and downs. Yet the five years we had together were very happy and I have memories to last me a lifetime.
If it works for you, then be happy and enjoy it. Don't miss out on that happiness by worrying about what could possibly go wrong. Nothing last forever. | |

I think that's what some people call a "soul mate" because something nameless and wonderful happens with no reasons why or how. Something inside is just pulled toward another person, responds to him/her in ways that can't be defined...I hope it lasts forever for you because nothing is like it and you shouldn't settle for less. | |

I'm the first to be sceptical about this kind of thing, but I hadn't even laid eyes on her when I 'knew' and sure enough, everything just flowed after that. She knew too, that is the strange part. On top of that, we discussed everything from sexual preferences to religion and continued to say "I know", "me too", or "I agree". We both have nerve damange to our lower lips, (it takes us twice as long to kiss) and other weird and wonderful similarities.
Ok, a bunch of coincidents does not a relationship make, but the feeling that this was "IT" was there for each of us before we had discussed any of this, and before meeting in real life. The online thing lasted only about 4 days, we made the shift to real life as soon as possible to 'test' this out, and it passed every test since then.
If you see me back on here, then I'm all wrong, but my gut instincts have been right before, as have hers. This is not lust at first sight, it's not about visuals (though she's stunning) it's about that gut instinct pull thing that tells you something is right way before you have enough information to make that decision on your own.
Again, thanks for the comments and keep them coming if you like. I'll be the first to admit if I'm wrong, but this just feels like forever, and that's the prompt I'm following, not either head! LOL | |

The one time it happened to me it was so powerful, we did everything we could to prevent it from happening. We tried so hard to find fault with it, to just be friends, but its like we were made to love each other and nothing we could ever do made that go away.
But she was with someone and rather than be unfaithful, we decided to never speak to each other again.. and its a heartbreak I think we both still carry with us to this day. | |

However, I was 100% honest and maintain this to this date. Should you be lucky, she might be as honest and stable as you are. Just remain realistic about it in order to avoid deception like I had to go trough. | |

I called my best friend later that day and told her I had met the man I am gonna marry. We had the whole "me too" thing going on too. We not only had the little things in common, but we all the important things too. I never knew you could fall in love with someone you never even met, but he felt the same way. We met in real life for the first time today. It was "instant magic". I know it's still early in the realationship, but I "know" he is my other half. I "know" like I've never known anything in my life. So I want to wish you guys luck, but you won't need it. When it's right it's right.  | |

I don't ever recall having that reaction to someone usually is oh nice spoken... nicely dressed... or he is funny I like this... damn he is hot.., but no not instant magic. I tried once instant coffee and I didn't like it. Good luck with your fish I hope it works out, just swim cautiously as you get to the deep part of the pond. | |
