Why are they so many fakes? Profiles with pictures of known models? Or just impossible girls?
We are all here to get to know each other and have some fun..
but there are loads of timewasters and people that ruin the website! | |

It depends on what you mean by fun. Some people have fake profiles in order to make them look popular within the forums, with comments that back up the original profile. Some people are just sad and enjoy playing mind games. There are some geniune people on here though, you just have to keep on looking. Good luck! | |

Posted: 8/20/2006 3:58:25 AM | Welcome to the world of internet dating. There are a lot of genuine people on sites like this, but you still get people as well who feel the need to place fake profiles. The reasons they may do this is numerous but include:
It is done as a joke
It is done because they are looking to prove that the opposite sex is superficial (at least those gullible enough to not spot a fake)
It is done because they get a kick out of it.
It is done because they love attention and think that doing so will give them more attention then a real pic.
It is done because they are hoping to snare someone with the pic and then once they get to know each other better, the other person will forgive them the fact that they look nothing like their pic (or in other words, they are insecure about their own looks).
Any other sort of reason
To be honest, they are all pretty lame and weak reasons to do it, but be thankful that you can spot a fake from a real profile and just skip past the fakes. It is part and parcel of this kind of thing, but if you look past the fake profiles, you will see that there is aweful lot of genuine real profiles on here as well.

Yes there are some pretty sad people on the Net!! But you just have to sieve them out and find the nice ones..

99% of folks are pretty genuine on the UK forums, it's the 1% you got to watch out for eh! Trish.
After you have been on the forums for a while you can normally spot a fake profile if it's someone who has been banned or deleted their profile and re-invented themselves.
And if you don't you can be sure one of the other regular posters will. | |

so i clicked her profile and she had a fake picture of some female i have seen on a porn site
i laughed so much

Whether it's being insecure about their looks, or their married, been banned and deleted etc.
It's not right really, as your deceiving people from the start.
If i couldn't be on here as myself, i wouldn't be on at all.
But the one thing i detest more than anything, is those who make fake profiles up purely to be nasty either through mail, or on the forums to other users. I think it's sad and pathetic, and shows they haven't got the bottle to say it from their legit account, if they've still got one lol.
Fake photo's make me laugh, as you can pretty much tell they are fake. A Hollywood star showed up in the last 10 guys to check their mail yesterday, and the profile states he's a look a like and the photo is him. I think not, it's from an interview the real star did for a well know Sunday paper a couple of weeks ago  | |

I actually messaged a man who put me on his favourites list because I thought his profile was one such obvious and witty fake - I sent him some mad message in keeping with the tone of his profile but it turned out he is the real deal and now thinks I am obsessed with him.
Don't know what to do now to discourage him from mailing me cos he's a bit insane and looks very strange. | |

For example, you could strike up a conversation about how you like to find men to have a romantic night with and are willing at the end of it to allow their members to be cut off, fried and eaten by you so they that you literrally will have a part of them inside of you. Then go onto explain how three blokes have already done this for you and it is fantastic for both sides as you get your kicks and it completely changes them as a person as they completely lose all sexual desire now they lack their penis and that you are now looking for a forth bloke to do it with. It may work to discourage him and if if doesn't, be very very worried about this bloke. | |

Posted: 8/20/2006 8:10:19 AM | After being on here a long time now i can spot a fake profile quicker than a Traffic Warden can write out a parking ticket.
Most of them have just one pic on their profile of some bird whos a porn actress or a glamour model and on their interests section have just sex writen down and as their profesion there all models aparantly.come on ladies be a bit more original....
You will know who the genuine profiles and people are on here when youve been here a while and get to know everyone on places like the forum.
Edit Saw Kelly Brook on here once but she ignored me ffs.......!! | |

I know of someone who has just come back with a re-invented profile even though they tried to be smart and put the new profile on before they deleted the old one.
