| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/24/2006 10:17:43 AM | Argg.. GSP is hurt so Penn gets the title shot, I hope GSP can recover quickly and fight the winner in early winter.
Can Penn beat hughes again?
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/24/2006 10:20:46 AM | | I hope Hughes win, only because I'm dieing to see Hughes vs. Sanchez. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/24/2006 2:05:59 PM | Hughes vs Sanchez??
Hughes vs GSP (If it happens this year now or not) Will be the best fight of the year hands down.
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/27/2006 8:10:18 PM | | HELL YEA HUGHES VERSE SANCHEZ "DAMN" THAT WOULD BE GOOD ALL-THOUGH SANCHEZ IS TO MUCH FOR HUGHES TO HANDLE PERSONALLY........BUT YEA PENN PUT HUGHES AWAY BEFORE BUT NOT AGAIN HOPEFULLY? ANY SAKURABA FANS OUT THERE? | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/28/2006 1:41:17 PM | | either way, i believe that both are holding the belt for GSP. hes gained alot of experience since he lost to hughes. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/28/2006 7:56:50 PM | GSP beat Penn recently. You watch. Hughes will have a hard time against Penn.
GSP is the man!! | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 8/30/2006 8:25:19 AM | | I don't think Hughes will ever be more focused for a fight than he will be for 63; I see Hughes taking it. Same for Hughes/Sanchez, if that ever comes about: Sanchez is a great fighter, but I don't know many fighters smarter, or more well-rounded than Matt Hughes. Personally, I'm dyin' to see Hughes/St. Pierre, too. I think that would make for one hell of a tilt. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/1/2006 4:55:15 AM | | Penn is going to come out on top again. No matter how hard Huges trains, his previous loss to Penn is always going to be there in the back of his mind. I believe Penn also is a fighter on a higher level of skill and awareness. Huges uses more power in his fights to intimdate(lots of slams). | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/1/2006 6:40:43 AM | i am hoping that penn will take this though i am not even really interested in watching this fight......i'm not a hughes fan ...and i have to agree with quirky.....if and when sanchez and hughes get in the octagon together, sanchez will definitely be more than hughes can handle.....that fight i'll have to watch!!... | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/2/2006 7:46:36 PM | | Matt Hughes is gonna end the match quick, has to send a message to Diego!!....and how Xience overcomes any obstacle......lol. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/2/2006 11:07:39 PM | Hughes will beat Penn!
And GSP, when he finally gets to fight Hughes, will beat him 'fairly squarely' !

| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/3/2006 5:33:35 PM | UFC67 will be GSP vs Penn (he will beat hughes) for the title And the double main event will be Hughes vs Dieago Sanchez for 1# contendership | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/3/2006 6:03:13 PM | 67??....shit we haven't even got through 63 64 65 and 66....lol.......and gsp will beat hughes...amen...he will......and then diego will beat hughes.... ....and then hughes will have a terribly bruised ego like mr shamrock ....hehehheehhe...... | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/4/2006 7:40:35 AM | Yes.. a brusied ego for Mr. Shamrock.. the 'RED MAN'.. as Tito put it so perfectly.

| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/5/2006 10:27:25 AM | | Im gonna go against the odds and pick Penn by submission ,Its hard to knock Hughes hes been an awesome champ but its his time to give it up.GSP and Hughes will be the fight of the year when t happens-lets hope GSP heals fast and its sooner rather than later. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/5/2006 4:18:46 PM | Hughes lost to Penn at UFC 46 because he was way too****. He made a basic mistake which obviously revealed how much he underestimated Penn. Watch the fight on youtube or vidlife. Hughes made a mistake you're taught to avoid on day 1.... don't give up your back. I don't think we'll see that happen again.
Diego Sanchez has no place in a fight with Hughes. It will be years before he is ready for Matt. If we see them put together, it'll be Franklin-Quarry all over again. Hughes, GSP & Penn are one thing.... Diego is not at their level.
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/5/2006 4:21:30 PM | | Diego is like 17-0, he deserves a shot. Dana White is considering it and the fans and press wanna see it happen. | |
| |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/5/2006 6:26:10 PM | Just because Sanchez is 16-0 doesn't mean he's ready for a title shot. He has never faced anybody anywhere close to Matt Hughes. Dana surely does want to give the fans what they want, but he doesn't want to blow his investment. He's spent a lot of time and money building Diego up. Feeding him to Hughes will be nothing short of sacrificing him to the wolves. Nate Quarry was far more dominant in the UFC, much more liked, and he was embarassed by a better fighter. Diego would have the same thing happen to him.
Besides GSP had to go through Jason Miller (won the ICON title a few nights ago), Sean Sherk (gave Matt Hughes one of his best fights at UFC 42), Frank Trigg (gave Hughes 2 good fights), and BJ Penn (who beat Hughes)... all these guys before getting a title shot.
Take a look at the list of guys Diego has beaten. That doesn't strike me as somebody ready to fight Matt Hughes. http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?FighterID=4824

| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/5/2006 7:33:48 PM | | personally i think that diego and matt should fight though i don't think diego is deserving of a title match just yet, and i don't say that because i think he's not a good fighter....he is....but i just don't think he's earned that privilege yet....but nuttin' wrong with seeing the two of them go at it....i think diego will completely control matt...imo..... | |

| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/6/2006 10:15:37 AM | I read online (so questionable credibilty) that Penn is toning DOWN his training for the Hughes fight. He felt that working in the ring all day hurt him for the GSP fight. He states (in this online article) that he is going back to the training that won him the Mundials in 2000 which is pretty much straight BJJ everyday.
IF that article was true I see Penn gassing out by the mid 2nd round and Hughes taking complete control at that point. If not it could be another Penn win.
I am going with Hughes by maj dec in this one.
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/6/2006 11:20:13 AM | NO WAY diego controls Matt. Better wrestling= Matt Better BJJ=Matt Better hands=tossup I just dont see the upside for Diego. Matt is who Diego is trying to become, IMO. | |
| UFC 63: Hughes .vs. Penn Posted: 9/6/2006 3:53:14 PM | | Thats a good opinion and good points, but I disagree I really do think Diego is ready for hughes. I'm not taking anything away from GSP, its gonna happen he's next for the title. I just think Diego is definately ready to have a title shot. I hate Diego and I even say he deserves it. :P | |
