| Foods you like and everyone else hates Posted: 9/2/2006 2:39:14 PM | | When I was younger, in elementary school, I used to love peanut butter and dill pickle sandwhiches, as well as peanut butter and cheeze whiz. I haven't had one since Gr. 4 when people started finding me odd to eat such things. Now, I find the thing I eat that others wrinkle their noses at is stewed rhubarb. I love it warm on vanilla ice cream/froz. yog. Yum Yum! | |

| Foods you like and everyone else hates Posted: 9/2/2006 6:13:16 PM | Food: Figade, I don't even think my spelling is correct. It's pigs liver sausage and it rocks.
Drink: Americano, is a drink not too many bartenders know how to fix. It consists of Campari, sweet vermouth and soda. Most people cringe at the bitter taste and red color but nothing beats it when you've hiked all day or been working out in the sun.

| Foods you like and everyone else hates Posted: 9/2/2006 10:29:42 PM | Liver, onions and bacon. Best with mashed spuds and lots of gravy. Mustard bean pickles. Smoked oysters. Strong cheese, the smellier the better. Parsnips, especially when cooked in a cast iron fry pan with butter and brown sugar. | |

| Foods you like and everyone else hates Posted: 9/4/2006 11:22:16 PM | I don't know if the "everyone else hates" part is really valid, but Kraft Dinner is still a comfort food for me. I don't prepare it the way it says on the package though. I add no milk, just lots of butter and then the cheese powder.
Blue cheeses ( which I love) , Zanse mustard ( a Dutch mustard that makes Dijon look like kindergarten stuff) , salmon patties ( lots of onion), hummus ( I eat out regularly at a great Lebanese short order place), and all sorts of "working class" type meals.
I make a killer shepard's pie ( called pate chinois in Quebec) with turkey hamburger ( really heavily spiced) , fresh corn kernels ( NOT CREAMED), and mashed potatoes ( with cream and butter, and a dollop of sour cream added) . Lay all of those down in layers, and then add some butter and paprika on top and brown under the broiler.
Working class fare, but it's rather cheap and very filling.
