Chronicles of Riddick... it's really nothing after Pitch Black, which was actually pretty good. CoR is more of a 'see once' movie, rather than a don't see...

Posted: 8/26/2005 6:56:00 PM | Oh yeah, Nemesis was one of the worst pieces of crap I have ever rented. Apparently, there are one or two sequels to it too! Not sure why.
"Chairman of the Board" - starring Carrot Top - avoid at all costs!
"Beaches" and "Steel Magnolias" - quite possible the worst examples of chickflicks in existence. Sheer torture to sit through!
"Lord of the Rings" (the original animated version from the 70's) - Man. it was bad.
Anything starring Josh Hartnett or Jennifer Lopez.
"The Bride with White Hair" - supposed to be a classic in Hong Kong Kung Fu movies, but it blew chunks.
Just about any Stephen King story that has been turned into a feature film.
Crappy sequels to even crappier original movies (examples: The Skulls, Urban Legends)
Any film that tries to take Rap stars, Rock stars, or Pop stars and turn them into movie stars. They all suck. | |

The later ( like La Florida) really takes a knowledge of Quebec "to get" , otherwise you are lost. It was written by a die hard separatist ( Felardeau) as a biting satire about Quebecers.
Instead of taking it purely as a wake up call, most Quebecers fell in love with the character and his foibles.
If you really want to understand Quebec, rent three films.
1) Elvis Graton
2) La Florida
3) Balconville
As to worst films, almost any big Hollywood blockbuster action type film of the last 5 years.
One that got rave reviews, that I just couldn't "click" on, was Lost in Translation. I love Bill Murray, and can appreciate the slower pacing of European films - but that is one bus I could never get on. | |
