| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 3:53:50 AM | Let's just say that one day you receive an email like the one quoted below from someone whom you know nothing about, a total stranger. Please read and choose one of the answers below :
"When I came across you profile, I was not interested in learning more about you at all. You didn't seem like a genuine and passionate person I am interested in meeting. You are not attractive at all. More specifically, you don't have the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Your smile, which is not the most dazzling and mesmerizing, does nothing for me. When I look at your pictures I don't feel any warm feelings going from my head to my toes. I can tell by the pictures that you are not a family person and that you don't like to spent time with your friends. In other words, you are not my type at all. I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life next to you, growing and learning together. Please don't call me, email me or contact me in any other way, for I never want to have anything to do with you. My name is ______ and I certainly don't want to be your friend. Than again, I could be wrong about everything:)"
CHOOSE A, B or C:
Would you infer from this email that the author...
A. ...just got up on the wrong side of the bed and decided to put somebody down.
B. ...is a pathetic and mizerable loser.
C. ...is trying to express, in a creative way, that he finds someone very attractive and would like to get to know them better.

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 4:41:28 AM | Some peeps have all the luck!
None of the above. It's someone that has tried and tried to get someone to write them back only to keep receiving "read/delete", so this is the new piss poor strategy!
Oh, the fun I'd have with this letter!

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 5:13:35 AM | | I'd go with C for cheese, er, trying to be creative. It's similar to the profiles where they say they are the opposite of what they are. Good for a laugh, but I don't think I've ever responded to one. | |

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 7:37:15 AM | As an educated man, i'm surprised you'd be interested in someone you have to decipher right off the bat?
Perhaps you like a challenge?
In your best interest i'd hope that it was C and they are being cute.
But then again... i could be wrong.

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 8:22:24 AM | I would laugh first, then delete.
I wouldn't have one second for the person who write such a thing.

I,d Tell my ex wife it’s not her place to critique my profile lol
Excellent!!!! | |
|
| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 9:00:59 AM | For me it is C, I infer that from reading the last line. However if anyone really does get an email like this, I am sure they won't get to that last line, they will be so pissed!!! This is not creative in my opinion, it is very negative. Use something nicer. | |

Satire is an art. I get that is what she was going for. To be diferent from the rest of the crowd and stand out and get your attention. That was accomplished.
But to put so much negativity into it with only one tiny little bit of positive phrased as a maybe at the end. Eeek..... is all I can think.
Ok, thats not true, I have a second thought. ISSUES!!! lol To me it seems like she is trying (badly) to play a game of daring you to jump through hoops to change her mind about you. If you bite and fall you'll be jumping through out the entire relationship.
While its true that there is the occasional person on POF who just is here to cause trouble, they don't usually offer that little bit of hope at the end. Like you can somehow change their mind about you.
My opinion only, mileage may vary....

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 9:08:23 AM | | I'd say you were trying to be creative, different and begging to hear from that person. It beats the heck out of "hey baby", "hi sexy" and all those silly openings on most emails. Send it. I hope she responds well. | |
|
| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 9:15:12 AM | I'd choose C ... but being the sarcastic soul I am, I'd notice the sarcasm right away. Although I'd be much more creative with my wording....... | |
|
| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 9:35:07 AM | | I can see the person is trying to be creative, but my choice is B. If they can put that much energy into being negative, they aren't spending much time on the positive. | |

I'd, of course, go with D.
Reply--It should be spend, not spent.
And in the last line, it should be then, not than.
Then delete and if the person contacts me again, block.
I can't stand when people play games like this. I take things quite literally so I would definitely see it as someone trying to play a game with me. I definitely woudn't participate. I also can't stand when someone judges me based on how others have treated them. That bugs me as well.

|
| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 10:46:18 AM | I've gotta go with B
I sincerely hope you weren't thinking of sending this to someone and trying to get a feel ahead of time of what the response might be like. This would have been a read/delete for me because I just don't like that kind of pathetic attempt at humour, gives off the impression that other areas of their lives would be pathetic attemps as well... you know? a bit of a social misfit?

|
| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 1:51:37 PM | I would go with C.....
I liked it......smiling and laughter is always good. It would do no harm, so why not take a chance..... That is if you have that kind of humor in you of course.......as everyone is different and alot will not find that funny at all. The question is......do you find yourself wanting to know more??????? Good Luck

| What do you make of that? Posted: 9/3/2006 3:59:02 PM | I say the answer is D as in DELETE, and tell her stop cooking with cheese on topic, sounds like she's tempting you to call? I wouldnt If i were you , oh the headaches I see coming | |
