Good idea for a thread, Lynx!!

Have you heard about usedpei.com? There are lots of bargains there and even a page for freebees. It is all free - to post or to purchase - and you can put up an ad for something you are looking for, too.

There is also this group - Charlottetown Freecycle Network ( http://www.freecycle.org) All items must be free. I have found a few interesting things.

Get into the habit of paying yourself first. It doesn't take much.

Perhaps bring your own coffee in a thermos or bringing your own lunch.

That can add up over the days and weeks.

Just my 2 cents (that I saved)

Now that the stores are no longer open on Sundays, try grocery shopping late Saturday evenings. They slash the prices on produce and meat. As for which stores offer the biggest deal? I dunno, I'm a slave to Sobey's.

Thats why I have seen your name before Gennienut. We are both on that freecycle group. Ive gotten some great things there. A brand new flat screen monitor, christmas decorations, a tv and dishes. Ive given away a few cell phones. Its a great site. Also check out Kijiji. The dollar stores have been a saviour as well.

Vacations to Go is a great site for inexpensive trips. Make sure your passport is up to date, and then check out the last minute deals...often more than 70% off.
I used Kijiji this year to rent out my kids rooms...they are both away at uni, so that is an added income for me....remember, the Canada games are here this summer, si if you are near Ch'town or S'side, you may consider renting any extra room that you have. Also, because I live in the country, I am very careful about the trips I make in to town....I try to get everything done in one trip...Gypsy

I am still around. I am dealing with a death in the family so not much fun to be around.

I use Charlottetown Freecycle quite a bit. It is through Yahoo. I love finding good homes for my unwanted items. Some houseplants found a good home with a very nice couple. It is as much fun to find things that I need too.

I have always used coupons, hit the sales, and reused any container I could. My vacation fund is getting larger with all the returnable bottles I have collected.

My daughter gave me a crockpot/slowcooker and it is getting lots of use!!
