forum survival guide Site Posting Guidelines Here Forum Rules - Specific ADMIN: Forum Rule violations report thread UK Events Rules & FAQ
Not a resident of the UK?
Post in your own local forum or in the global forums, "locals" are exclusive to those residing in their regions Please read the following "forum survival guide" - to ensure that you are familiar with what this forum is for, what it's not for, what to expect, and how to avoid potential problems. This is a discussion forum, not a "chat room", it is moderated which means that posting rules of the forum will be enforced. Rules, ...the word sometimes makes people want to rebel, but without them, and without the means to enforce them, there would be no forums. Those who persist in violating forum posting rules will have their posting privileges REVOKED. Starting New Threads . SEARCH FIRST !!! REDUNDANT THREAD TOPICS WILL BE DELETED - This is what it looks like:
What is a valid discussion forum topic? Issues that can be debated, discussed, or in any way serve as the means to an exchange of ideas, thoughts, and opinions. Try to focus your comment, question, or idea, check for spelling mistakes, especially in the thread title - as these forums are searchable only by title.
Threads with vague titles such as the following , ARE NOT valid forum threads and will be deleted:
- "Have you ever....."
- "Need advice..."
- "I can't believe it!"
- "Read THIS"
- "How do I....."
Or, any misleading title that has nothing to do with the subject of the thread.
- Title your threads in a meaninful way that relates to the thread's topic
Examples of "chat topics" (do not post these kinds of threads - they will be deleted on sight)
Lists/polls/surveys E.G.
- "Who's/What's your top 10/worst/best/favorite "______________?"
- "Yes or no, do you think that "____________________________?"
- "What are you wearing?"
- "Chips or Mashed which do you prefer"
- "Why can't I get any dates?"
Some thread topics go far beyond "redundant", there are many topics that have been done to death, search first before you post, redundant threads are deleted. You could call this being a sadistic, hippophilic necrophile, but that would be beating a dead horse.
E.G.
"Why do nice guy's finish last"
"Why do Men/Women lie"
"Do women/men prefer nice ladies/guys or bad girls/boys"/il>
"Why don't people answer their messages"
"Profiles, Fakes, Pictures - why none, why shirtless, why cleavage etc."
"Are looks more important than personality"
"Do any men like BBW's "
- Etc
Replying in Threads - Note the topic and direct your comments/questions/opinions to it DO NOT DIRECT YOUR COMMENTS TO OTHER POSTERS - REPLY TO THEIR COMMENTS ONLY Address the post - not the poster If your reply is deleted it's because you bruke a posting rule - read the rules and FAQs to avoid this - DO NOT REPOST THE REPLY Make sure your reply is on-topic with the original post
Use "block quote" to highlight the comment you are replying to, for how to do this, and other allowed "tags' see: FAQ - BOLD ITALICS UNDERLINE & QUOTE (HTML Tutorial)
- Reply to other's comments always keeping in mind to tie things into the topic of the thread
- Don't "chat", if you want to talk to, about, or regarding the/other poster(s) take it to mail - that's what it's for
- Don't change the topic - there already is one
- Threads are not an excuse to post remarks to broadcast your skill at witty reparté - if you want to make fun of something - email
- As this is NOT a chat room, please use words and not "text-speak" in your posts.
- Also, you have 15min after posting to correct and revise your post via EDIT do not use EDIT to "bait & switch" this is trolling.
Attacking your comments is NOT attacking you, if you are debating/discussing something, be prepared to defend and/or back up your comments with cites/facts/logic - NOT PERSONAL ATTACKS But what if someone insults/flames/trolls me? Do not retaliate, this just make more mess for the moderators to clean up, making you as guilty of breaking the rules as the instigator - ignore/or ignore report - that's one of the reasons there are moderators. Instigators and antagonists are treated the same

| WELCOME TO THE UK FORUMS! - read this first, and introduce yourself here! Posted: 7/1/2007 2:45:40 AM | Hello to all UK Forum visitors.
My name is Jay and Tan Y Ddraig means Fire of the Dragon. (Yes I'm Welsh!)
I've come here to participate in some juicy topics, something to get my teeth into, and pass the time, maybe even get to know some people the longer I spend here.
Not looking for dates or to pick anyone up, but I have been known to email posters if they have said something I admired and wanted to let them know.
Careful you don't break the rules here, (Read the rules). I've seen lot's of people been banned for silly things, and I myself got a ban under a different username and to this day I do not know what it was for! lol
I've been here for almost a year and it's a great place to find a topic and participate in the discussions. It's a friendly place, some people would make great history, politics and English teachers and get proper into it man, but the rest of us are here to chill and discuss light hearted topics.
Look forward to swopping views and opinions with you all soon,
Jah Bless. | |
