| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 5:50:09 AM | Hi There All, Has anyone complete the Myers Briggs Test. I had done it years ago but forgotten my accessment. It's kinda interesting to find out what your personality type is. I am an ESFJ which did not surprise me. I have done many of these sorts of tests and it's rather surprising what you KNEW about yourself and things you had never given much thought to. Let me know what you think? Ad | |

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 6:54:35 AM | And once you've completed the Humanmetrics test, this site is extremely good for the descriptions of the sixteen types : http://www.personalitypage.com/
It has sections for career, relationships, parenting, etc etc. Enjoy!
Ps... you can re-test every six months to a year, and the results may have changed. Once tested it does not mean your type is fixed - as we age and grow... we change - I know this is obvious, but it's amazing how we think that once we're pegged as something that's what we are.
also keep in mind that the Humanmetrics is a FREE test - so it is not as comprehensive as the True Myer's Briggs, which comprises of over a hundred questions (can't remeber, but it takes almost an hour to complete, whereas this one is only approx 5-15 min)
Cheers! | |

No harm done Adri....just know it's easier to grap right away and easier to do. I did the test and found I am ISFJ....enjoy doing these tests to see if it really fits me.....and I suppose it does to some degree.

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 7:21:02 AM | I did a few tests over the years. It's so true how you do change. I found my results very interesting pre separation to now. Interesting how life's events change us and sometimes in such profound ways. Thanks for the site info Kia :) | |

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 7:33:54 AM | Hi there, cool thread. I have done the complete test a couple of times and I am an ENTJ. The interesting thing we did with it was do have everyone on my work team at the time, including our manager, do it and then we saw our differences and similarities. It really improved our understanding of how each other worked and the perspective they were working from, so it improved our work dynamic. I think it would also be interesting to do it as a family... anytime you have an insight into understanding yourself or others better, it can really have an impact on your interpersonal relationships.
And yes, it is only a snapshot in time of where you are, it definitely changes as you grow and learn, so it can be fun to do it once in a while to see the changes if any.

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 7:57:14 AM | Today I got ENFJ on that link but mine tend to vary a bit...
actually a more comprehensive one is available at similarminds dot com and there I got ENFP but my scores are very close to being even on Feeling/Thinking and Percieving/Judging.

You are:
* moderately expressed extrovert * distinctively expressed intuitive personality * slightly expressed thinking personality * moderately expressed judging personality
I was reading what exactly that meant and I found this quote to be hilarious. "TRADEMARK: -- "I'm really sorry you have to die." (I realize this is an overstatement. However, most Fs and other gentle souls usually chuckle knowingly at this description.)"
I sure as hell chuckled when I read that, just because we're all gonna die and I'm pretty sure I'll be sorry that it will happen. LOL! Those things are fun to think about, but I'm sure I've lied or placed a true where there really should be a false. I doubt anyone here can claim strictly unbiases answers to those questions.

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 8:17:47 AM | | LOL, I must admit I did look at some of the questions and think I would like to be somewhere in the middle (neither yes nor nor). I have to agree we did a smiliar exercise at work. At the end of the seminar the one odd ball in the office was a complete 'green' where the rest of us fell in the gold/blue, blue/gold region. Sure explained a lot about how she is and why she is the way she is. Her mind set is so different this us. It would be interesting to do it with family members. It must might help us be a bit more understanding and tolerant of each other. | |

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 8:59:26 AM | Tickle (www.tickle.com) has two separate tests, about 40 questions each. One is on your love life (Love Personality Test), on which I score an ENTP, same score as a year ago. The other is on work (Career Personality Test), on which I score an ISTJ, though it was an ISFJ four years ago.
So, Extroverted in love, Introverted at work. Intuitive in love, Sensing at work. Always a Thinker. Perceiving in love, Judging at work.
A couple of the questions are the same, many are similar, but they look at situations in two different lights. Probably fair as I know personally that I approach love and work differently. Love is something I want, work is something I need to do, and my goals and approaches in both are very different, as demonstrated to myself by the fact that I answered the same question differently on each test.

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 9:02:33 AM | We did that long test at work, as part of some communication seminar--supposedly, knowing "what" I am, and "seeing" that others can be so different, I am supposed to change my mode of communication to put the other at more ease, lol (meanwhile, being out of MY element, I am totally stressed, lol)
Nearly everyone else in my office is the exact opposite of me. I forgot my "acronym just as I went to type it out!
|
| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 9:11:07 AM | yeah, I did it. and then we had a seminar afterwards to go over the findings. I had something the lecturer had never seen before - completely opposite results.
what the myers brig calculated for me, and what I calculated for myself. opposite findings. Go figure

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 9:46:52 AM | My type is ENFJ, I am:

Uhhhh? | |

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 12:30:31 PM | That is crazy! I'm an INTP, and reading through the descriptions, they state that these people enjoy "metaphors" and the "finish the series" brain teasers... Well my finaly year of English was all metaphor and I absolutely loved it, and when I took my military exam, they had a whole bunch of "finish the series" questions, some of wich were very difficult and only gifted people figure them out in the time alotted... I finished the test with time to spare and ended up with that section perfect... so I guess its true! Funny, they say we can be a bit arrogant.. hm... lol. Not that I'm arrogant, just sure of who I am and what I have! | |

| Anyone Try the Myers Briggs Test? Posted: 9/10/2006 2:12:41 PM | | I tried and I am INTJ which is apparently very rare, only 2% of the population gets that. I am apparently a protector. Fits in with my career as a teacher. I looked up the other site to see that. I guess I've been in the right career all these years ! | |
