Strong silent type or a sense of humor?
Posted: 3/15/2005 10:47:07 PM
I see many women say they are looking for the strong silent type. I always thought they were silent because they couldn't think of anything intelligent to say. In fact, I knew a guy that was as dumb as a doorknob and never said a word. Women flocked to this guy.

On the other hand, women say that like a man with a sense of humor. A good looking young comedian was being interviewed and was told that he must have alot of girlfriends. The comedian said no, he wasn't dating anyone. The interviwer said "But women like a guy with a sense of humor". The comedian said "No, they really don't. They just like to hook up with some guy and laugh at the dumb comments he makes, thinking he has a sense of humor". Be that as it may, the guy with a good sense of humor usually is outgoing and talkative and intelligent. The opposite of the fabled strong, silent type.

So Ladies, which do you prefer, the strong silent type or the outgoing guy with a sense of humor?

A little of both, really. It's difficult when you are trying to have a conversation, and the only one making the effort. I like a guy with a sense of humor, but who also knows when it's a good time to say nothing.

Not hard for me, I've learned my lessons.
Love a witty man with articulate, funny wit.
Have a little fetish for geek types too.
Personally, if my mind is engaged, I find it does very positive things for the rest of my body.

The stereotypical strong, silent type really dosen't interest me, unless he wants to hold still so I can do a sketch.

(true! but.......
1) i read your profile
2) i'm the mother of two 6ft. boys
3) i was married for 20 yrs to a person who semi-qualified as "inane"
4) my ex b/f also semi-qualified as "obnoxious"
5) i work DIRECTLY with "The Public"
6) having had such "exposue"...lol.... i am a bit more resilient and flexible in the TYPE, as it goes....and can be a bit more , shall we say.. eloquently picky..?!?

RDtoo ... a person can have a "razor sharp wit" and NOT be a jackass...
*Ps. class of '74! yeah!
