Listen and do it the first time, and we won't have to nag.

But I do know that if it were'nt for nags, alot of Divorce Lawyers might have to vacation in Bakersfield instead of Hawaii

Oh I lived with a nagger for years and so wished I had a remote to shut it off, I can relate to you OP for sure. We have ears we can hear you the first time, and if it doesnt change then someone is obviously not listening and in my books that shows lack of respect.......moving on.

I just let it go. Maybe he didn't feel like answering. If he never gets around to answering and it was an important question ... then I need to wonder why he didn't answer. If I ask him what he wants for dinner and he doesn't answer ... he gets what I cook.
If he offers to change the oil on my car and never gets around to it after I ask him to do it ... I'll just take it to get the oil changed elsewhere ... who cares? If I ask him to "please" take out the trash and he doesn't ... so what ... then I'll take it out. Forget the small stuff ... let it go ... life is too damn short!
However ... if he keeps making dates with me and then canceling them ... he gets three chances. Three strikes and you're out ... but I'm not gonna nag him about it. A grown mature man will know that he's screwing it up and doesn't need to be nagged about something he knows is not right.
Nagging is useless ... forget it ... don't waste your breath!

Master that, and most sentient animals won't need to be told twice.
Okay, and women talk too much, which dilutes their message. Concise is better, ladies! Use small words and be CLEAR in what you're saying.

Annnnnd, using food as a positive reinforcement. "FIX THE GARAGE DOOR!!!!!" (snausages toss)......"yes dear"
Ok, maybe substitute the snausages with M&M's or something, snausages taste cardboardy....

There might not be any need for it, but it will still happen, as for some people, nagging and complaining and never being satisfied is their M.O. It's what they base and live their lives around. They are only truly happy when they are nagging and attempting to control.
And its not trait just found in women. Men can be just as much chronic naggers as women.

| nag nag nag nag nag nag nag.... Posted: 9/24/2006 10:59:19 PM | I was watching The Amazing Race earlier tonight and there is a hillbilly couple on there that just get on my last nerve. The rotten-toothed wife never smiles about anything and just seems to nag the poor guy incessantly.
I've never been a nagger nor have I been subjected to nagging. It just crossed my mind while watching it how sad it must be to live like that and I wondered why he hasn't kicked her sour puss ass to the curb.
Do you become oblivious to nagging after being subjected to it for a length of time?

first...thanks for all the replies of which some provided some insight and others cracked me up.
ok....here's more info than the rhetorical questions.
some time ago, i helped unload a truck for this lady who just moved to town. i was sick at the time, but stuck it out. after unloading the truck, i got worse, and was just beat. she insisted i go to the store with her to get some chicken wire and put up a pen for the dog. told her i was too sick now, weak, and also got a fever. she just pushed the issue, and it didnt matter how nice i tried to say no...nothing worked until she urinated me off so bad and my blood pressure got so high...i almost became a human fountain. only then did she back off.
next incident. was planning an out of town trip, and she asked if i could install curtain rods for her before i left. no problem...told her i would do it in a few days before i left, and put the time aside in my schedule which was actually 2 days before i left. wasnt good enuf. she just bugged the hell outta me, and would not even give me the chance to fail in not keeping my word.
there's been more...but this is enough to get a better idea...
anyone have more ideas now on this destructive behavior?

if i could do this...i would even nominate myself for sainthood here on earth..
With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was tired to death. Judges 16:16
this is more accurate of the effect on me...
