| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 9:33:42 AM | | Doubt that anything like what is proposed is going to happen to American citizens. So why worry? Mind you, the terrorists would have no problem doing these acts to American citizens...so is turn about fair play? Probably. They don't want it done to them? Fine...then it is up to them not to do it to others. | |

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 9:57:32 AM | This gives Bush the right to pardon himself for any warcrimes... even ones he hasn't committed yet.
It's everything the OP says.

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 12:21:31 PM | | Okay, I can't find anything that gives me concrete information on what was supposedly passed. Infowars doesn't have a cite that I see, or am I missing it? (I don't put anything past the Bush administration, including actions described in this article, but I want to see a source.) Thanks! | |

Also the Youtube video of Cafferty (sp?) an American right-wing crazy who supposedly is a 'liberal' by US standards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoRjbIQMXGQ&eurl=

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 12:55:45 PM | | I must be seeing something very different when I post the site address... none of those were in what I saw. I'll try that again.... Thanks! | |
|
| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 1:09:35 PM | It's being spun as if torture and rape of US children has, or will occur.
Other than that, good find.
|
| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 1:21:41 PM | | The one thing I give Alex Jones credit for is the amount of time and detail he puts into his documentaries. The one thing about the "conspiracy theorists" now is that most of them will tell you to do the research and try to prove them wrong. Most of Alex's documentaries are on google's video, although his "Martial Law" documentary is extremely long but well worth viewing. | |

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 1:45:25 PM | | Makes me kind of glad I am Canadian. I think you Americans are headed for some serious trouble if that goes through. I wish you all the best and hopefully the bill will not be passed. | |

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 9/29/2006 3:56:01 PM | It was still the United States who detained him and sent him to Syria to be tortured. They made the decision to do that. The RCMP did not tell them to hold him in the US nor deport him to Syria. There is no Canadian law that even comes close to this proposed bill.
So yes I am glad I am Canadian.

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 10/2/2006 12:03:08 PM | | I am glad and proud to be a Canadian as well...and because of that, I do fear that our current government, in the name of big business is taking us closer and closer to the US which does seem to be in a tailspin of radical right wing/draconian reform. | |

Only 2 of those sources you list are legitimet sources...the LaTimes and the New Yorker. Blogs and such are meaningless and even more slanted that the major news outlets.
Besides, even the 2 legitimet sources don't get as weird as the SHOCK link at question.

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 10/2/2006 12:20:37 PM | | ^^^^^ I like to take my news from the entire spectrum. The real truth lies in looking at all sides, knowing their agendas and looking at the spin each places on "The Story" But the fact remains that this did get through congress and I, in my humble opinion, do not beleive it is refective of the People or the original intent of the idea that is/was the United States. As a side note...all news sites are propogandist. Alex Jones is one for sure...he takes the anti-government view. Fox is worse. CNN not much better. Canada is no different. All media today is what I like to call "Propotainment" | |

I don't know, I think Canada is another extreme. A foreign national can fly into Canada with no passport and be allowed to stay while awaiting a hearing. That's pretty lax in this day and age.

Yeah but if some sides are total garbage...useless...why bother unless of course you're goal is the same as theirs.
It's kinda like going all the way to the butcher where you can get the best meat, but you say don't chop off the fat and gristle.
Yeah all news is propotainment, but I see zero value is catering to the worst denomonator.

| WOW...Look where we are now Posted: 10/2/2006 12:35:02 PM | | ^^^^^ People will decide for themselves which is the "worst" Everyhting is subjective. I personally will take more of Alex Jones than Fox or, perhaps more importantly say, what the White house is saying. History has shown that what they tell the people and what is actually going on is very rarely one and the same. Cheers | |
