Back in the 70s we had to drive about 1/2 an hour to get there...and it was a big family outing. When I asked my Dad where McDonald Land (like in the commercials) was he said behind that fence....but he wouldn't lift me up to look at it, he enjoyed keeping the illusion going. | |

I came to the conclusion that there were little people trapped in the radio, then one day when the cassette deck on it crapped out (maybe it was the 8 track... I forget) my dad opened it and I patiently waited while he opened the radio so I could greet the little people!
I was utterly TRAUMATIZED. Eventually I figured it out. | |

Well......to make me stop freaking out my mom told me to look for the carebears in the clouds and i guess i shut up and looked for the rest of the way. Nice parents eh? | |

There was a hole in the wall where the door knob went through one time, (did not have a door stop) and I believed the monster came out of that hole at night to feed. I was terrified to put my hand in the hole, and I would put food down that hole from time to time, thinking that if I fed the monster, he would not come out at night to look for food! | |

I believed that everyone was a good person, but some of them were just lost.
I believed "Do you want to be grounded?' was actually a question.
I believed that my father wanted me to trail behind him all day, and ask stupid questions.

Posted: 9/29/2006 7:17:23 PM | I believed that I had to get a running jump at my bed everynight so that the monster could not reach my little ankles. Also that older girls and boys were that scariest thing that life had to offer, next to the monster under my bed. I believed that boys had cooties, and that if I ate cookie dough that my tummy would grow worms inside. If I peed in the pool, others would know and point and laugh at me. I believed that somehow a shark was in the bathtub if it had bubbles, and that my dad could beat up any other dad in the whole universe.
