Why do people start a forum when they find someone and thanking POF? I have noticed afew forums were people have found their " soulmate " after a month or so but now they are single again, just asking a question....

Because they are happy, they feel love.

Usually their new partner is still on pof and its like hiring a airplane and writing out "I love you" in the sky.

Regardless if it works out or not, no harm, no foul.

I like hearing about things like that actually. There is enough ****ing on here, so its nice to get a little good news for a chance.

It may also be great encouragement for those that are on here for a while and are still looking for that "soul mate" or "special someone". They may think twice about deleting their profile and giving up.........

Everytime I see one of those I (after cleaning up my puke) think, Yeah, we'll see you back in a couple of months.

It's the ones that don't broadcast it that usually last.

Besides, you look like a duffus when you declare finding your one and only and a month later you may have found your one and only but apparently your one and only hasn't found theirs.

You know everyone will get their turn... eventually. I think it's natural for someone who has gotten so much advice and encouragement from a group, to want to be able to share their happiness with the same group.

Sure... maybe it wasn't US that had a reason to celebrate, but when we do/if/when/ever I think we would all like to see the well wishes from the group that helped us and supported us through our troubled times.

Don't be negative. You know, we have all been through some negative events in our life, and this forum is about hope, love, and finding happiness that has eluded our past.

Let's give a round of applause to anyone who finds a glimmer of good, regardless of how long it may last, to anyone who has experienced something positive from their time on POF.

OK, I'm getting off my soap box.

Regards,
Mac

Telling people (forum wise) you think you found someone does give hope to those who haven't which is kinda nice..

especially if they were to give a cute little story about it,
it's like sharing that persons' momentary euphoria, and I'm cool with that. :)

however, there's always the chance it isn't going to work out after a period of time, like everything..

Does that really make people dufus'es for feeling that way and experiencing that rush,?
nah,
just makes them chance-takers and livers, (not the chopped kind)....

although after loving and losing some may feel they have gone through the blender.
But you don't get hummus without smashing some chick peas....haaa

Do I see it as shameful they may fail, return and fall again?

No way !

Heee

Why are people so concerned about what other people do?

I'm sure we've all thought we found the right person, only to have it blow up in our faces. Have a little compassion, rather than judgement.

I do have compassion for others, and I have thought I have find that special someone and I really don't care what others do...it was just a question for a forum and something I have been wondering and thought others may have been too....

doesn't that kind of defeat the premis of a soulmate?

i could be wrong and probably am. then again, i never believed in the concept of a soulmate. honestly, i think its just some Christian thing that we've just learned to believe in.

i'd rather find the yin to my yang. its a much better story. and a true yin-yang is meant to be.

Well here's a little story I would like to share...

My brother met someone from POF a year ago.
They are both artists and very creative and seem to share a very carefree attitude.
It seems they have a lot in common and were destined to be together.

I myself think she's awesome and her whole family is great actually.I can't say enough good things about them, and we all get along really well as if we knew each other for years.I feel it's the best thing that could have happened to my brother.I also feel that it is good for me that i now have an extended family.

Almost 3 months ago my brother was in a bad car accident and had lower back injury and nerve damage in his right leg and a fractured hip.His other leg was broken and he had knee damage they had to operate on.He could'nt walk at all and the doctors were'nt entirely sure if he would again.

His girlfriend was there for him every minute of the past few months and that would be a strain on even a seasoned relationship. But considering the relationship was relatively new,I think it was even more impressive and showed that she really does care about him.

My brother apparently agrees, and i'm happy to say that he is actually starting to walk again with the help of physiotherapy.Even though his knee is still quite sore from surgery,he got down on it yesterday and proposed to his girlfriend. So they are getting married next september.

So there is hope for those still looking on here.

I agree with KK and tall girl it is nice to read and hear about the success stories. gives hope for others. and i wish everyone the best.

that being said a few months ago i was one of those persons that made a tread saying i found a special someone, lord knows i never said it was my solemate. but i posted just to say i was happy and to show people it actually does work, little did i know a month and a bit later things would change and id be single again.

i had thauight about deleting my profile when i "found taht special someon" but all you great people on here convinced me not to leave just cause i "found someone" and i didnt, yiou meet some great people on here and i wouldnt be able to leave just like taht, i enjoy most of the people on here and the disscussions with you all,

but know matter what we are all here on this website to find something whether it be a soulmate friendship or friend with benefits haha. so i think we should respect everyone happiness in what the found on here or sccomplished!. if i ended up dating someone off here again id tell everyone again.

i think we all got to relise that just cause we are on a dating site doesnt mean we are going to find our soulmate on here. its just that this website makes it easyer to meet people without having to go up to teh people in public and chatting with them!

thats my 2 cents haha

I know I have had soul mates. Just not the right one at the right time for me. Timing is everything.
