| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/1/2006 10:14:08 AM | | On a previous thread I saw a post about scars. There were a lot of positive remarks regarding the subject. Here's my question, Does the fact that a scar is on her face change anybodys feelings on the subject? Let me know, I would really appreciate the feedback.By the way, we're not talking about some hideous scar; just a little, but noticeable one. | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/1/2006 10:26:25 AM | I replied to the other thread you mentioned, and my decision remains the same. A scar or scars doesnt bother me in the least bit, as a matter a little scar is kind of sexy to me. I dont know if you have ever watched Charles in charge, I belive it was on in the late 80's early 90's. Anyway there was this blonde who played Charles' girfriend and she had a scar on her face and it always turned me on. P.S. I believe her name on the show was Gwendolyn | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/1/2006 12:11:10 PM | Nope, a small face scar wouldn't matter to me at all. OTOH, burned over 90% of her face? Well...I can't really answer til I'm in that situation.
Women hold themselves to higher standards physically than men hold them to. At least in terms of scars.

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/1/2006 4:31:07 PM | I agree with most of the posts here... scars are no biggie... and to have a story behind one can be cool (even for us foggies... not just a childish appreciation). There's a guy on here with kind of slit-throat scar... now that's cool! lol In agreement with smith, a small scar won't even get noticed (or will be easily forgotten) after a few meetings/conversations. I think I'd have an issue with big-time visible naevus flammeus (Gorbachev-style), but with the right person, that could be overlooked too, so put it out of your mind... like most of your friends and admirers, I'm sure. Oh, and I agree with the previous poster on the similar thread to this one, re: laser surgery... pretty darn amazing what they can do nowadays. I've some insignificant complexion scars which irritate me at times but I'm sure I notice them more than anyone else, but cheap laser surgery will make those disappear when I get to the point of being able to throw money at that, rather than credit card and auto-loan payments! :)

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/1/2006 4:32:55 PM | | well i have a scar from the middle of my nose to the top of my head, its a surgical scar. i had to have some work done to smoothen those areas because i had excess fat lumping there. its a weird condition and i've had to deal with the scars all my life. its a huge issue in my life and has stripped me of confidence, especially with women. i hate the scar more than anything. Its not very noticeable in my pics but its there all the same. but what can i do but get on with life and deal with it. and i have! I worry about the scar more than anyone else. it sucks, but at least i am healthy. it definetely has matured me quicker than most guys, well thats what i think anyway. its hard to have a happy youth when you don't look like a model. I do what I can. i haven't had a lot of girls in my life, and I'm sure it has more to do with my lack of confidence then with my scar. but you live and learn, and try to be the best you can. always believe in yourself and be respectful to everyone! | |

Posted: 10/2/2006 1:37:21 AM | | do scars count as stretch marks?I got both and the only ones that i'm ashamed of are the stretches.I got scars all over my hands from work(I'm a heavy duty mechanic)and a couple on my head(stories from my youth). And by ashamed i meen my own stretches due to my own stupid ass, not as an insult to anyone else with them.

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/2/2006 1:42:12 AM | | Scars I have no issues with -- its an accident that causes it --- not something self inflicted I hope | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/2/2006 6:23:47 AM | I can't remember the song and I will probably get this quote a bit wrong so I apologize in advance. It was something like this. . . .
"Scars are just souveniers that you don't lose"
Obviously I enjoy physical beauty as much as the next person and would be disappointed to see scars ruin that beauty, but there is so much more to a person that scars wouldn't be that big a deal.

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/2/2006 4:35:23 PM | Yeah, you got it right, but my favorite line about my more interesting scars is
"Scars are just tattoos with better stories"
Although I don't usually let anyone see them until I've known them for a while, and if they do happen to see and ask, it makes for some fun and very entertaining battle story comparisons.

This is a humourous subject for me. I have a large, obvious scar on my cheek. I NEVER even think about it until someone asks me about it. It's been there my whole life.
I get a kick out of people who seem to have to work themselves up to ask me about it as if I'm insecure/embarrassed about it....
... my only problem with it is that it got there without any really cool, swashbuckling kinda story behind it....

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/2/2006 5:57:09 PM | yahh roo--I may not even care if the scars were self inflicted. Did you know johnny depp has self inflicted scars? I'm sure you wouldn't mind if your daughter or sister brought him home. In some cultures, scarrification is done to increase beauty. I don't see it, but whatever. | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/2/2006 9:46:37 PM | | I'll be you'd be really safe from worry about this if you were with a guy who had a lot of scars. Otherwise, it sounds like you worry about it a lot without need. If that makes you feel better, just say in your profile that guys with scars turn you on. | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/4/2006 1:16:51 AM | | scars are sexy. Take Tom Barringer in Platoon, put some boobs on him, and try to hold me back. | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/4/2006 5:45:45 AM | Did she get it in a knife fight to the death in prison?
If so thats HOT...
No really it probally wouldn't bother me at all, A cool story to go with it would be bonus points even if it wasn't true though...

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/4/2006 10:11:36 AM | | Scars are sexy. I have about a half dozen on my body from various accidents (from sports, biking, car accident)... | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/7/2006 12:06:18 AM | | My ex had alot of really bad scaring on her side from an accident. She was extremly insecure about it when she first showed me. I just ran my hand over it and it didnt bother me at all i spent alot of time, running my fingers over it kissing it to let her know that it wasnt a big deal. I thought it gave her character, even though it bothers her to death. A bodies just a vehicle anyhow.. | |

| in RE to the thread on scars.. Posted: 10/7/2006 12:18:35 AM | | OP, My second wife had several scars on her face from a car accident before I met her. When Ones head goes through a windsheild you expect a few. If you are looking for prefection what happens when you start to age? And if the scars are anywhere else, they just mean you have lived longer or harder than you thought you would. | |
