| My Overclocked Core 2 Posted: 10/7/2006 1:56:55 PM | I'm waiting for the quad-cores myself. The Intel core 2 quad is super fast. It beats the Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme by 30% on most apps.

| My Overclocked Core 2 Posted: 10/7/2006 2:29:43 PM | | Simple and straight to the point. Why are you bothering to overclock your cpu. There is no point with modern cpus. I can easly see if you have a 5 or 6 yearold PC, but with dual and soon to be quad core chips sets, and video cards with a gig or more ram and 32 pixle pipelines, whats the point of overclocking?? | |

| My Overclocked Core 2 Posted: 10/7/2006 2:53:40 PM | To get the most bang for your buck.
The same concept applys to people that throw in super-chargers in their cars.
I overclocked my system to get the best preformance I can get out of it at without spending tons of money. I use Maya 7 to render graphics, edit and encode movie videos and play games on my pc. By me overclocking my system I have been able to render things quicker and smoother in Maya 7, edit and encode video quicker and play games on high settings smoother. The benifit of this was me not spending 3,000 on a system, but instead spend a little over a 1,000 to do the same thing as a 3,000 dollar system. By overclocking my system I saved myself 2,000 dollars which in return gave me a net gain of 2,000 in my pocket.
The stuff I do I need as much as I can get out of a pc, but at the same time I don't have 3,000 to throw down either to go out and buy a system that can do the same thing. | |

Overclocking your PC is like port-n-polishing your mammi's honda so you can do donuts in parking lots, cause you can lol

| My Overclocked Core 2 Posted: 2/15/2007 5:37:24 AM | | The major downside to overclocking, is that in most cases you will void the manufacturers warranty. If you burn out your mama's system doing donuts in the parking lot and void the warranty in the process, mama may ask you to fetch her a switch ...... | |

| Overclocking Posted: 2/18/2007 6:12:10 PM | | Pentium D 830 on a P5WD2 overclocked to 3.45 GHz with stock voltage and a CoolerMaster Hyper48 HSF. Could go further but why bother? It's way more than I need as it is. | |

| Overclocking Posted: 2/19/2007 9:57:40 AM | | best tip for overclocking......... buy an asus motherboard, they overclock your system automatically as the need arises and adjusts your fan speeds etc | |
