Posted: 10/17/2006 3:43:13 PM | I've noticed a LOT of women with long straight hair lately have been flipping their bangs back. At college, around the city, and quite a few amount of girls on PoF who live in Ontario. It's JUST the bangs as well, making it look like some sort of lump sitting above their forehead.
Quite frankly, I think it looks damned retarded ( Along with dozens of other people I've mentioned it to. High school, college, and bar buddies alike ).
So, what, was there some sort of famous woman who put her hair up like that by accident and now the women around here are all conforming ( Like when thousands of girls bought Home Hardware shirts because Avril Lavigne wore one on Saturday Night Live, augh )?
It's one thing to follow silly trends like girls wearing tank tops over long sleeved shirts or guys popping up their collars, but this? It's... just hideously laughable that any woman could think or feel attractive while doing it. | |

That is a god awful hair style. Mostly women with no sense of fasion are wearing it just because they saw someone else wear it. Followers... they aren't cool enough to be different because they are fraid they won't fit in so they follow what someone else is doing even if it looks ridiculous. | |

I think you're referring to the "wall of bangs" that were popular in the late 80s/early 90s. (Jesus that sucked. I wasn't even interested in girls then and knew it was retarded.)
I blame Gwen Stefani for the atrocity now.
I still see profiles on this site, mostly from the midwest, that have the forward combed forward bangs.
Next thing you know, 80s fashion will be revived and will be wearing a thick belt on the outside of their dress. Oh, wait....  Oh well, at least that doesn't look as bad. | |
