| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 5:36:18 PM | The forums are slow tonight... so I sat here and came up with a topic.
What do you go out to do by yourself when you're single? Now. we're not talking about hanging with the buds, meeting up with the drinking buddies, going out on ladies or guys night here.... what do you go out and do when it is JUST you?
I have a few favorites:
- Troll the bookstore for new titles, old favorites and recent interests.
- Head to opening night at a movie and buy myself one of those large soft drinks to enjoy as I watch it.
- Take a drive somewhere.
- Head over to Hobby Lobby, Pier 21, and other home accessory stores like that to get ideas for improving my place.
- Take dancing lessons.
So how about you? What do you do?

But before the Internet and 9 hour work days, I would go to the movies alone. The library has long been my favorite place to hang out in.
I just don't have the time nor motivation anymore. My job requires my downtime to be spent as far away from other humans as possible. | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 5:44:38 PM | | I find I don't have much time to do things alone...so when I do...I don't really want to do anything big!! Sit in my yard by the water and take everything in...I like to read, surf the net for my next vacation...talk on MSN to my friends (seeing as I am 5 hours away from them now) and mostly just spend time with my son... | |

Posted: 10/17/2006 5:50:42 PM | I enjoy going to the movies alone, I can sit front and center noone talks see whatever I want to see no discussion, and best of all stay for the credits to roll, I take my movie going too seriously lol. I do also enjoy going with someone from time to time don't get me wrong but thats pretty much my get away alone activity, escape from the real world a while...

Mmmm...I think I'm gonna have to do that this weekend.

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 9:02:42 PM | Everything, since I'm alone most of the time. Go to the park, go to the movies, go to dinner, go to a museum, shop, see a play, go downtown and stroll around, write a story, go to Starbucks and drink green tea lattes with a book, go on a road trip, go to a bookstore and spend too much money on books when I already have twenty I haven't read yet, and so on... If you can't be comfortable with your own company, you can't expect anyone else to be comfortable with you either. | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 9:47:57 PM | That's interesting OP. I hadn't really thought about this in a long time. I do whatever I'd do with someone else. I travel. I go to movies, dinner, theater, museums, etc. Whatever I want to do, I do. I learned long ago that if I were to wait for someone to go with me, I'd probably not get to go. So, I learned how to enjoy doing most everything all by myself. The really interesting thing ~ now, I'm so spoiled doing what I want when I want, it's almost more of a hassle to plan for someone else to join me. I'm not so sure I'd have the same experience should I start taking someone with me. I don't know ~ I think I've spoiled myself. JMO | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 9:57:40 PM | I watch new movies at the theatre, especially independent film theatres. Hang out at Indigo Books, Chapters and Mcnally Robinson's. Go to HMV to look at dvd's and cd's. Go to fancy clothing stores and just touch the material (I never try anything on or hardly ever buy, I just get high off of looking). Go to different restaurants. Walk around the park, walk around downtown. Sometimes hit the arcade or get a pool table of my own and practice. Read the paper the coffeeshop. Workout, read, write movie scripts. I'm perfectly self sufficient. | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 9:58:01 PM | | I'll go to the gym and work out, read a book, read the forums (hehe), go to the movies or out to eat -- but mostly, I call my friends and say "Hey, let's hang out!" | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/17/2006 11:18:15 PM | I dance and cavort mostly nude around my place (this is a very horrible thing to witness).
I also masturbate a lot (yeah... that's right, I said it)....
Of course these things are mostly done at home.... mostly.
When I go out I mostly just try to look cool and disinterested.... that way people gravitate towards me. It works like an f'ing charm.
I also play 'creepy dude grab ass'... it's a fun game of wit and guile.... where I grab people's asses..... you see where the wit comes in..... yeah...
I also fight crime.

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/18/2006 12:00:26 AM | | I've been single for six months now after a short-term romance, and I've gotten used to doing things alone once again. I refuse to experience less of life just because I don't have an "activity companion". Dining, theatre, movies, running, hiking, shop, and whatever, all done sans a mate. Sure, I'd prefer to share the experience, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself. The only thing I don't do is extended travel alone. | |

| So what do you go out to do by yourself? Posted: 10/18/2006 8:07:13 AM | | Rollerblade, workout, tv/movies/music, clean my apt, go on the net(you'll never run out of new stuff like that), play with the cat, be lazy, bowls, make myself playlists of songs and get new songs, cook and eat my daily meals, go shoppin(even if it is just groceries), call my friends to hangout is probably the thing i do most when I'm chillin alone. If I had a car I'm sure I could find some more exciting options. I'm limited geographically plus have too many friends to have that much alone time. | |
