| Russian women with US citizenship
Posted: 10/18/2006 7:56:59 PM | I have had several relationships with Russian women who used their 1st husbands for citizenship. Those guys appear to be big fools, but I would assume that there are probably some relationships that worked out. The Russian women I dated had citizenship thanks to husband #1 and were looking for husband #2 to get them bigger and better things. They want to get from point A to point B in the quickest time. My experiences have been that they are very manipulative and for all practical purposes just gold-digging. They don't look you in the eye when talking with you. They will always expect the guy to foot the bill...which is OK with me, but most American women will at least treat their boyfriends for a lunch once in a while.
On the other hand they can appear to be very passionate and loving, but it's not sincere. I figure the fact that they married husband #1 just for citizenship is basically a form of prostitution, and once they enter that arena there is probably no turning back.
My advice is PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

She was too young for me and I let her go, also her residency could take her anywhere in the country and I couldnt follow, but she was one of the sweetest and most sincere and nicest woman Ive ever met ...and totally generous ... Ive never met such a generous woman, always sending me gifts, offering to pay, etc.
My guess is that there are some who use men as steppingstones, but a woman is a woman, if she loves you she'll have arrived at where she was trying to go, most likely. | |

There sure are! My Russian friends are nice, well educated women living successful lives here in the states. But I'd like to add too, guys that are going this Neanderthal, cave-man route - "order myself a bride." ...grunt; NOT all Russian women are beautiful or are the most beautiful women in the world! They are just like the women in the US! They either have natural beauty or they don't. They are either loving nice individuals or they are not! ...imagine that. | |

My ex is a Russian woman and is certainly no gold digger. I know (although my dating experiences appear to be not as indiscriminate as yours) very many Russian females and they are NO DIFFERENT from any other woman in the world.
Culture is different, certainly but, you cannot generalise in such an insulting way with absolutely no knowledge worth having.
My suggestion is you delete this thread completely, it is inappropriate and racist.
If you had said the same thing about women who are non white you would, potentially, be in breach of the law.

Serendipityone, good point. There are some men who marry a foreigner (Certain type of Finnish men go for Thai or Russian women) thinking they are "buying" a wife with certain characteristics they desire - forgetting they are marrying a human being with her own dreams and will. Some of these ladies have had a nasty surprise waiting for them after the "amen of the priest", when the honeymoon is over. There is no supply if there is no demand - so obviously sometimes those who deserve one another just meet. Sadder I am for those who marry with good intentions and notice the attitude of the other one change after the relationship is legal, both men and women. | |

It happens not just here, but on many other dating sites. Similarly, there is quite a bit of Nigerian scams going on. Be careful, while I'm sure there are honest ones out there, quite a few are not.
http://www.geektools.com/ will help you locate the domain (do a whois) of an e-mail address which is the address after the @ symbol.
Now mind you, I'm sure there are some with a mail.ru address who are not now living in Russia and who U.S. Citizens. I would caution those who are to adopt at least a gmail address if not a Yahoo or MSN address, so it won't seem to those of us who are cautious that are you lying about your current location. Those who do lie about their location do the rest of us honest people a disservice. | |

That doesnt mean everyone is a gold digger but everyone does have certain expectations.
Let me give you a few examples. Would you date a homeless person without a dime to their name? Probably not.
When my wife (x-wife now) and I first got together, she NEEDED me financially....for a place to stay etc....but that never crossed my mind because I was naive. I was in love and didnt want to lose that. 2 1/2 years later all my credit cards are maxed out and I cant keep her happy. She leaves me for my best friend. I'm not saying money is the only reason, but its definatly a factor. Almost subconcious. When its conscious then we call them golddiggers. My x-wife would say it had nothing to do with money, and she would believe herself. Its a background effect...she wasnt ok with other things and then when the money ran out it was even easier for her to move on.
I'm using personal experience to illustrate a point. I'm not trying to steal the thread.

Incorrect, he is making conclusions based on his own so called experiences.
I would suggst he is racist. If a KKK member said that in his opinion all non whites were gold diggers, that would be racist. This thread is no differnt to that.
Would I dat a homeless and destitute woman? Chances of me meeting one are slim but, I hope I would not be so shallow as to judge heer on what she has not got. The least I would do is find out the why's before dismissing her.

It can be found where ever there are good looking woman looking for a husband that can afford it. It also works in reverse for the women as well. These are often business propositions and the companies that handle it charge in the tens of thousands. It would not be surprising at all to see these woman acting as gold diggers considering the organizations that handle it. Some are legit, some are not. | |
