| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 10/18/2006 10:14:39 PM | l sit here despondantly unhappy while the rain stumbles down, the trees, there sad leaves head down while the showers of water cascade of their greenfaces with a torrent of fears. The roses that where flowering along the blue jacaranda have thrown there pearls to sit like pretty ladies without any abode. The yard is covered with what were once vibrant flowers, that now are only discoloured petals mourned by fronds dripping ashen heavy tears. For no apparent reason you just awake feeling like shit, what do you do to regain your sparkle. | |

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 10/18/2006 11:06:05 PM | Hi there Wizard
Sorry you are having a bad day!!..
I do one of three things depending on the day and my commitments -
1. Get up, get moving and get on with my day and usually I end up forgetting how miserable I was when I woke.
2. It was suggested to me not that long ago to use a happy, quiet time to write a list of the things in this life I am grateful for. You then start your day each day glancing over the list and this is supposed to start you off on a good foot! On a down day when you read your list and it is supposed to put things a little more in perspective. I have written my list but haven't needed to use the list yet as a pick me up.
3. Bury my head under the pillow and go back to sleep.
Oh I just remembered another one that usually works if I can do it - I find a friend online and chat with them!!!
Good luck cheering yourself up -
and if you need a friend just yell!!
Cheers Sue | |

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 10/19/2006 12:15:15 AM | Most mornings I wake up feeling like shit or a kid sitting on my head. It's hard to shake up and out of the morning blues. Usually start to feel human again by 4pm.
Music is my medicine of choice....or hanging out here.
VVV OMG how could I forget SHOPPING. Thanks GG! Errrr but only when I have spare cash. Now I am depressed again lol

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 10/19/2006 2:39:49 PM | I take a walk on the beach...listen to the waves crashing against the shore...let the water run over my feet as I ponder the wonder and beauty of life..........
I go in the kitchen and bake a pineapple upside cake....and take it up the tattoo shop for anyone who comes in to enjoy.....
I take out the crayons and color with my class ....or if it is not during school....take some pencils out and just sketch natures beauty ........in vivid colors....
I run a warm bath....add bubble bath and salts...turn on some music and just relax.....
I drop everything and go and get that book I have not had time to read and just sit and read it from beginning to end......
I go outside and play in the back yard with my dogs....they always have such a confused look on their face when you start to dig in the yard with them.....:-)
I pick a hibiscus and put it in my hair....(gotta look around and make sure there are no bees first...:-)

Closer to home a big deep bubbly bath and some music or a good book can work wonders too, otherwise I'll watch a DVD or video of some loopy comedy, or a movie I know off by heart. Cuddling one or all of my kids will usually do the trick also *sigh* - instant relief

I talk to or ride myhorses, listen to music, do some creative cooking, talk to my dogs. If I'm really in a bad way, I consult my internet friends and beg for something to lift me up!

| What do you do to cheer yourself up... Posted: 8/21/2007 3:50:49 AM | If things are really really bad for me, I will go back to bed and try and sleep (but that doesn't really cheer me up, it just makes me sleep and not have to think about or deal with things until I wake up again) and then I usually will ring my best friend or my Mum (depending on the issue) and tell her how I feel and have a good cry and usually I will feel a bit better about stuff and make a bit of an effort to cope with it.
If things are just mild-medium bad, I will ring a friend, or my Mum, go online and chat with a few favoured contacts, go shopping with a girlfriend or get her to come over here or go out for lunch or visit with someone special, ie family or best friend.
