| Pet Peeve of the day!
Posted: 10/23/2006 6:57:15 AM | I'm going to vent here for a quick minute. Well I'm going to ask a ? also, maybe i'm the only one with this problem! Why is it, when your driving down the freeway in the fast lane- I75 for me in the metro area- you have to hit your breaks because some idiot has to drive the speed limit or slower in that particular lane! Whats wrong with the other lanes? Why do these people feel the need to drive so slow in the fast lane? And when I come up on people like this, the majority of them seem to be from Ontario! ahhh and Ohio! So does anyone else have this problem? I swear I run into this problem going to and from work daily!

Posted: 10/23/2006 7:27:36 AM | | yeah i understand where your coming from. i don't have an explanation for the people who are from ontario driving slow, but for the people from ohio... it's very simple. cops from ohio are a**holes. people from ohio just get used to driving like they are being watched every quarter mile because the cops there are absolutely crazy. my only advice to you is get a motorcycle. there's nothing like weaving through traffic on the freeway on a bike. just make sure when your in ohio to drive like your road test instructer is watching your every move and if you don't drive to perfection you won't get your license. because that's about what it takes to NOT get a ticket while driving through ohio. | |

Speaking of pet peeves,,,,here's just 1 of many of mine: I sooo hate it when you're waiting on a side street,for example,,,,,to turn onto the main road and waiting for the traffic to clear when the dork (and im being very nice) who is approaching doesn't turn his blinker on and turns down the road you are on. For cryin out loud! I coulda pulled out long before that if he'd had his freakin blinker on!  | |

2nd of all .. have any of you ever had the pleasure of riding/driving a semi truck ... well you get an entirely diff perspective of driving do's n dont's .. it sucks being in a semi and restricted to the RIGHT LANE ONLY and having some stupid FOUR WHEELER on ur butt when they are allowed to be in ANY lane ... R yall that stupid to realize if that truck has to slam on its brakes and ur ridin its butt ur gonna be part of his trailer, but what does the FOUR WHEELER care .. cuz most likely the truck driver will get the ticket.
Yes it is irritating to have to follow someone doin the posted speed limit ... did you ever thing that person just might have a CB in their car and know where the cops are hiding and are actually doing you a favor by either saving your checkbook of "ticket rape" or ur miserable life?
SOOO MUCH ROAD RAGE ... SOOO LIL TIME ....
oh and have yall priced out BLINKER FLUID lately ... that stuffs expensive .... with gas at or over 3 bucks a gallon one can only imagine how much a tank full of blinker fluid is gonna cost ya. So bear with those who are conserving their precious supply of BLINKER FLUID. | |

Posted: 5/2/2007 5:24:06 AM | Heres another one: How about when you are picking up speed and about to merge with the flow of traffic from a ramp and the knob/knobette who is in the right lane doesnt merge over into the left lane to let you on or if they cant cuz of traffic,,they dont slow down and let you in or speed up so you can merge in behind them? Arghh,,,,i dont know where some of these ppl got their drivers training from!

They are supposed to either speed up and let us in,,,slow down and let us in,or move to the left. Those cars that are on the highway and are approaching an on ramp should always make it a point of habit to notice cars entering traffic. | |

MCL 257.649(7) governs this question. A driver entering a roadway from a roadway that is intended for and constructed as a merging roadway, and is plainly marked at the intersection with the appropriate merge signs, shall yield the right-of-way to traffic upon the roadway that is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard and shall adjust their speed to enable them to merge safely with through traffic. Simply put, a driver merging onto a freeway must yield to traffic upon the freeway. It must be noted that traffic on the freeway cannot intentionally block a driver from merging by either speeding up or slowing down.

Posted: 5/3/2007 10:15:22 PM | | Oh man... I merge onto the M-53 expressway all the time from 26 Mile Rd. and it is such a task. The on ramp is also used as an off ramp for the people trying to get off the expressway... so traffic is zig zagging like crazy at that spot. | |

(if you stay in the passing lane and do 70 on US 23 you probably will get hit or run over).... | |

MY PET Peeve..is..;..when you have days off and there on the weekend ..It takes twice as long to GET errands..done..DANG..I hate line up,s on Saturdays..
I look forward to having my days off on weekdays so I CAN get things done that you JUST can,t do on a WEEKEND.If I could I,d have both... ...fat chance of that tho...Until retirement!!!! | |
