What is it you enjoy about the games you play? The challenge? The fun factor? The story? And you do you like to play alone, or with others? Do you enjoy co-op? Or competitive?

Actually there are a lot of studies that show females tend to gravitate more towards task completion type entertainment vs the games where a gazillion people are just shooting at them (high action). There must be a purpose or goal to what they're doing to keep their interest. I love co-op games.

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 10/27/2006 9:06:30 AM | My favorite types of games... Well that is hard.. I tend to vary a lot..
First there is anything from the original Nintendo (Specifically all the marios.. Don't know why I'm so addicted)
Then there are First person shooters and dear god am I a competitive little one. If you do not like to be talked shit to or called names then do not play with me.. lol.. You definately have to realize its just the shit talk and not to take offense lol...
What else... OK I'll admit it... I'm a Sims junkie (Drool... Sims2)... Maybe it's a little god complex or something, but come on now people who doesn't like to play sims lol...
And lastly RPG's.
Really I just like video games.. I like strategy of certain games, the violence and stress relief of some, the ability to play a role rather than your own life, the control of a simulated world, and the competition...

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 10/27/2006 10:53:58 AM | Adam are you conducting some sort of study? I saw the same question from you in the Ask A Guy forum.
Will our answers be placed in some sort of secret database locked in the basement of some CIA owned building?
In that case.... I refuse to answer.

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 10/27/2006 11:26:56 AM | No study, just curious. I figure I'd ask in both places, to see how the guys and gals respond.
Personally, I'm not much for shooters and such. They can be fun, and I'll play them now and then. But my preference is strategy and roleplaying. I like thinking games, and ones with lots of tasks and collecting to do. :p
I also like some card/board games. Like Culdcept for PS2. Which is a cross between Monopoly and Magic: The Gathering. :p
I have a bunch of fun co-op games that I can't wait to play with my sweet Mai.

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 10/27/2006 12:16:02 PM | | I like the ones that make me think. RPG's are my favorite but they take so long to play, so a strategy game like Heroes of Might and Magic is good if I don't have time for an RPG. I like to play alone because I like to do everything I can in the game and explore every nook and cranny. I find other people want to race through the game to get the best time. | |

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 10/27/2006 12:30:19 PM | | Morrowind has to be the funkiest game ever. I've actually avoided getting the third in the series. 'cuz I'll be 'missing' for a month once I do; I just know it. Waiting for the really cold weather to hit... lol | |

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 11:34:55 AM | | Strategy & role playing games are by far my favourites, but fighting & racing games are alot of fun as well - they just have to be the exceptionally good ones for me to even bother with them. | |
|
| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 11:44:36 AM | | Regular racing games don't interest me much. But the stunt ones, or Mario Kart-ish ones, those I enjoy. | |
|
| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 12:51:43 PM | The only fighting game that I bother to play is smash bros.. all the other ones I just push buttons and make my friends mad. As for racing I'll go old school rca pro am or mario kart is fun too.

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 1:41:13 PM | For me, it's MMO's. I played Everquest 1 for four years, and have been playing City of Heroes for 2 years.
I can't get into single player games at all.
When I play, it's for the social aspect. That, and I'm a roleplayer. It's difficult to roleplay alone.

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 2:31:49 PM | The game I've mostly been involved with is pure text. Kind of like a living book, online, where you become part of the story/world through your character. It was a nice escape, and I liked it for the atmosphere, the interaction and roleplay, making up stories, and also, for a limited time, for the challenge of solving things or defeating the difficult monsters. Building was fun too until it got too much like work.
I don't get on so well with visual games, I've had some fun playing Baldurs' Gate and with Lego Star Wars with a friend, but I'm hopeless at the 2D to 3D conversion/perception and always fall off cliffs or down pits and mistake walls for paths, so that part gets frustrating. However, running about with a big sword or a light sabre makes up for it somewhat. And I've just gotten to play R2D2 too now, which involves me making lots of little beeping noises until we're falling about laughing... No interest in playing it on my own though -- where's the fun in that?

| For the gamer gals... Posted: 11/6/2006 4:05:56 PM | When I bought the first Playstation I would rent all kinds of different games and my gf at the time would watch me play Each time I would ask her if she wanted a turn...she said no Then I brought home Spyro the Dragon, played for ten min then asked her if she wanted to try...knock me on my ass with a feather if she didnt say yes...then she played all night...I went to bed alone...and when I got up in the morning she was still at it....
Just goes to show - - you just gotta find the right game....if only they made a 2 player version...we might still be together....sigh
