The answer is yes of course there are plenty men out there who are attracted to heavier women. What they are not attracted too is women who sit around whining that they can't get a date because they are fat. If you think there is beauty within, then it will show to the men here and they will be drawn to it. There are even dating websites specifically designed for BBW's. I'm not sure where but read about it in another forum.
Don't just post your picture here and sit around waiting for them to come to you. Most men that want a skinny chick say so in their profile. Things like looking for an athletic woman or height and weight proportionate. Ignore those. Write to the rest of them and let them know if you are smart, funny, caring or what ever other good qualities you have. If they look at your profile and then answer you back, you've at least got your foot in the door. If you see that your message has been read and deleted, do not take it personally, just move on to the next one. Men like women who are confident in themselves, enjoy their own company and are willing to meet them on their own terms. Show a full body picture so men have no doubt what they are getting. Too many heavy women show a pretty face, but not the rest of it and men feel as if they've been tricked, even though if they had seen the full body, they probably still would have gone on the date.
I'm a full figured woman. In my profile I put in there I am short, fat and blonde. I show a picture of my whole body so there are no surprises. I get regular emails from men of all ages and from all over the world. This morning I even got emailed by a 33 yr old from Italy who thought I was sexy. Naturally I have no interest in someone that young and so far away, but it feels good to get those type of emails. If you present yourself as worth having, then you will have no problems finding men who want to go out with you. | |

I'll have to get a friend or my daughter to take some full-length shots for posting. I don't want anyone to feel like I am trying to be deceitful about my appearance. I have a pretty face and have been told I have beautiful eyes, and I try to make the best of my assets.
I get tons of emails from 25 - 35 yr olds. Not sure I understand that! | |

I have noticed quite a bit of difference in attitude between someone that you might say is a bbw and someone who is slender and attractive. Attractive women many times allow their outward beauty go to their head where a bbw is more down to earth and easier to live with. I have seen some over weight women that I could fall for but i dont even get one of them,,,

I didn't take your question as whining at all. I think it was genuine and fair. I assumed you wanted to "take the temperature" of the men currently on this site. You seem to me to be a very dynamic, funny, intelligent woman who is perfectly at ease with who she is. It doesn't hurt to get a little reassurance every now and then.
Talley - while you are obviously entitled to your preferences, you really shouldn't generalize for all men. Nor should you be cruel. It's uncalled for and it doesn't put you in a very good light, really.
I have a good friend who is a BBW and she is with a beautiful man, inside and out, who loves her with a passion. As well he should - she too is beautiful inside and out. My mother was a short, large, beautiful woman and my father was tall and thin. They were absolutely madly in love with one another for over 50 years, and after my Dad died my mother had plenty of offers...even though she never felt the desire.

But it just strikes me as ironic indeed that the nation that has the largest population of fat people in the world also quite probably has the biggest hang up on what women are "supposed" to look like. There are countries where large women are the ideal and not thinner ones. It is truly ones individual preference, but the media does much to sway the balance of those preferences in this country, methinks.
Okay I will get off my soap box. For now. Sorry.....but because my mother was a wonderful, beautiful, short, fat woman....that has always been a positive image to me, not a negative. It invokes feelings of love, comfort, joy and security.

Posted: 10/29/2006 3:49:44 PM | I realize I phrased that wrong and did not mean to imply that you were whining Kokopelli, but that in the other threads asking similar questions of this nature, there were a lot of women moaning and groaning about how no one will ask them out because they are fat. What I was trying to say was with the right attitude, the fact that you are a BBW will not inhibit your ability to find a date here. You seem to have a positive attitude and recognize your favorable qualities which goes a long way towards making a good connection here. I had looked at your profile which is why I made the suggestion of putting up a full length picture. I've helped a few of my guy friends set up their profiles and the biggest complaint they have is meeting women who say they are average, show a picture of a pretty face and then turn out to be BBW's. Most of them would have no problem going out with a larger woman, but they feel that a woman who calls herself average, then only shows her face, is not a woman to be trusted. There are also various degree's of bbw's and a full length picture can eliminate any misconceptions on the mans part.
You've got a good start on a positive worded profile. Your picture is well done and shows a bright encouraging woman. I meant no offense, was just making suggestions that might help and letting you know that many men out there will be interested. | |

I will take all the suggestions people make - let me rephrase that - the constructive criticism - and continue to work on my profile. I don't want anyone to feel like I have deceived them. I know we all have our preferences of physical appearances - my turn offs are brown teeth and extremely hairy backs, but that doesn't mean I would not want them as a friend, or someone to hang out with. I just couldn't put my tongue between them!
Talley - your response was very childish, and obviously you are a very shallow man.
Buster - I'm bigger than what you are looking for or I would head west one weekend.

Posted: 10/30/2006 1:11:12 PM | As you can see, i'm no little man, 5'10" and 297 pounds, i have rosey red cheeks, and i look like Santa, I even play Santa come Christmas time, i have my own Red suit, anyway...YES we do, or i know, i do, there's just something about a woman's body, look at all the Master's, did they paint skinny women, I think not, they painted Women in the Nude, and fine looking one's at that, i really don't know when the styles changed, but that they did, and as men get older, they come to think of women, as something to love, not as something to play with, it's in a woman's make up to gain weight after child birth, and with age, Hell i use to be called Superman, and Tarzan the way i was built as a young man, and now look at me, ...Santa. and i'm as proud to be known as the jolly fat man, as anything else, I think it's all in ATTATUDE....yep, i've seen some women who were not small, i've have given in right *** to date, and they wouldn't even give man a second look..... | |

that is a bit hard to answer. Deep down inside, all of us - both big and small, want to bring someone into their lives. To be loved and cared for, etc.
To answer your question tho'...
In my experience, women that are full figured or so tend to have been thru the ringer emotionally and maybe even phsycially. And I am a big guy myself, at 6'4 & 330lbs..
So I have a bit of a clue how it is to be looked at as "different."
Yet, I know for a fact that it is ten times harder for women that are full figured or so to meet and keep men. Perceptions, their own insecurities, etc play against them for the most part. Plus a person's own likes and dislikes ta' boot.
I have tried to date many women who were not a size 4, and it has almost always (9 out of 10 x) ended with my being cussed out, talked about, verbally attacked, and made to feel like why even try when the next pretty big woman comes along. Because for the most part it feels like it is a trend. Of course, I feel that way about most the women I tend to meet
What I do like about women that are not smaller sizes, is that they tend to be a bit more adventurous sexually, and outgoing socially.
Unfortunately, as I qualified earlier, EMOTIONALLY I have not had much luck getting past previous hurts, both theirs and mine.
If you are a fun, good person, have no major hang-ups and issues. Then like everyone else, love shall find you...
JUST HAVE FAITH AND THINK POSITIVELY ABOUT "YOU"
and be prepaired for it when it smiles on you.

I have come to realise any man out there that is not willing to look past that is not worthy of my time. I have had successful relationships, but wonder about today's men out there. It seems that sex has always sold faster that the package I came in but hey that's just the way it goes.... There are good men out there far and few between but I personally think that no matter what you look like there is someone for us all. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. When it all comes down to it ~ it's really how much shit can you put up with? We all have our limits!! I have come to appreciate honesty much more than a line of crap from some guy or girl for that matter. We have feelings and do things the same way just could'nt hurt to tell your friends how much they are loved even if they don't have barbie packaging. Keep your head up, lord knows I have kissed many a frog and it wont be the last. I know it gets discourageing and dissappointing as the weeks roll by with no mail. I live it!! Posted: 10/30/2006 4:29:04 PM | yeah they do...but then there are a LOT of the jackasses who are rude and crude or think they're funny , who like to hurt people...no matter of size, looks,wealth or anything else...those are the one to be pitied. I haven't always been a BBW ...but I am one now...I'm heathy,active,and have a fairly full life. BUT.........I'm still looking. I was told recently that I have a pretty face but.................I you just lost a little weight....now this came from a woman who is thin,unattractive,a druggie,drinks constantly and has the morals of an alley cat (and I'm not saying this to be mean, it's the truth) ...I just smiled...but it did hurt my feelings..I am the same person I was 100 lbs ago. No one asks if you're heavey for a reasaon...they just assume that you're lazy and eat too much. The majority of larger ppl I know eat less than half what smaller people do.
Truthfully what it comes down to is this...JUDGE NOT...LEST YE BE JUDGED~~

I have a ton of confidence in myself, know what I am and am not capable of, and can carry on intelligent conversations with the presidents of oil companies, or talk to the the window washer with no problem. (I would rather talk to the window washer!) I just wanted to get a feel for what men think. I'm floored by the number of emails I get from really young men (relatively speaking) since I'm old enough to be their mother, and in some cases almost their grandmother!

You take people in general, there is something about themselves that they do not like and want to change. I do believe it is easier for thin people to judge a person based on size as a result of their own insecurity.
But then I also believe that you have to be truly happy with yourself before you can pretend to make someone else happy. If you are unhappy as a large person do something about it. One has to be stunning on the inside before anyone can begin to see it on the outside!
A BBW can either lay down and take what life wants to give her or she can use it as a "Determination" tool and make herself better. Life is so short, live each day as if it is your last and Smile..one can always look around them and find someone with just a little less then you have.
SO ma'm I don't know you, but perk up, you have allot to offer, stand up straight hold your head up high, smile and own yourself! Be happy for you, No man can make you happy if you are truly not capable of being happy alone.
