...what do you consider to be acceptable, comfortable height differences (flat footed...no shoes) between you and your significant other? Is there too big a gap (lets say over 1 ft)...is there an 'ideal' difference...can the girl be taller than the guy? etc. etc. etc. What are yer thoughts on this one?

yes, a woman can be taller than a guy. I'm ok with it...if this is what someone is basing a relationship on..wow! pretty shallow...why would you want to be with them any way?

i perfer that a woman be in a heigth range of 3"shorter or same height...but right now any height would be accepable....except for shallow!

...i don't know if shallow is the appropriate word...i mean would you be comfortable standing under a woman towering over you...or in the same context...be with someone who is eye level with your nipples? I mean...this has nothing to do with what other people think...

in reading some women's profile they have guildlines...
"you must be this tall to ride"....is that shallow...

if your within an inch or 2 what's the big deal...to sum it's all about how other's shall view them...so yes i do think it is an appropriate word

maybe....but would you date a chick who would have a "you must be this tall to ride" in their profile anyways....stuff like that, to me, is the biggest WHATEVER....

Big frakking deal. It's fine to have preferences, but I would draw the line at any "absolutes"

At my friend's wedding a few years ago, I met her uncle who was 6' 11" and his wife who was 4' 11". Yep, an even 2' gap between them. Looked a little odd to watch them dance, like a man dancing with a little girl but so what? it worked for them, and that's all that mattered.

I am 5'10" well maybe 5'9 - 3/4" and she is 5'10" (so she says) but I am thinking she is 5'11'" because I am not below 5'10" if you know what I mean...

Regardless, she is taller...

The fella I am currently dating is 8" taller than me and I confess I like it...when we hug I can snuggle under his chin...we just fit perfect. Just my preference.

all the girls I've dated/seen in the past were all taller than me.. only an inch or two.. The y always asked if I had a problem dating a taller girl.. I tell them "I don't really have a choice when you're my height."

I've never been one to care about the height of a guy but I'm dating one who's alot taller than me and I have to admit I really like it. When wearing 6" heels, I am almost mouth to mouth.

I prefer the guy to be at least my height. I once dated a guy 4 inches shorter. Yeah that didn't go over so well.....especially when I was on a top stair and he stood three stairs down and attempted to kiss me. OMG! It was awkward. Never again!

I don't think it makes any difference. Height is an external characteristic and I hope I've learned that external qualities are really only important for about the first 5 minutes. It's the internal qualities of a person that I'm looking for....those are the traits that matter in the long haul. I've dated guys that range from 4'11" to 6'2"....some of the shortest guys I know carry themselves taller and with more confidence than the taller guys. To each their own I guess, but it really shouldn't matter.

I am around 5'5 - and I have dated guys over 6'4 and a guy that was 5'3 - the guy that was 5'3 was the funnest and greatest guy I ever been with. I usually look for the guy to be at least 5 inches taller than me - just because i like that 'big strong arm' thing - but I wouldn't have traded in the little guy for anything :) He certainly made life fun and brought out the best in me.

Too tall, too short, too old,too young, too pale, too purple................

I think most of the time these are just excuses for hiding behind!

I personally would never even consider dating/sleeping with or even hanging out with someone shorter than me.

i prefer to be the shorter one in any relationship... there is just something about getting a great big hug from someone taller than you... make you feel safe and stable. most of my friends are the same height as me with a few exceptions to the shorter side. i have to say that i am easy either way in that sense.
i dated a guy that was shorter than me by about 3 inches and it didnt work out.

As a rule i dont tend to care, but i am 5.10 or so. If i need a stool to kiss her that's uncomfortable for both of us. But eh, i wouldnt let height stop me from meeting and seeing where it goes.

Height makes no difference to me at all. I have dated a guy WAY taller and one much shorter.

I am actually surprised how many height threads there are on the forum and how often it comes up.

I wonder why I don't care about height? LOL

If I was a foot taller than my guy, I'd feel like a giant....most of the men I have dated have been over a foot taller than me and I like it.....tall men are yummy!

OK, enough about that.....now I just need to meet one.
