I assume his tattoos reflect his wants, desires, likes, dislikes, fears, loves, whats important to him.... whatever. They all have a story of some sort and they are an expression and give him individual character whether they are words, native american, asian, animals, tribal, doesn't matter, it was his personal choice. Maybe he's an artist and designed them all himself - bonus!
I think they're really sexy and I have no hesitation asking strangers if they mind showing their tattoos.
I like to finger outline my partner's tattoos. So if he's got them all over his body, let's hope he's not too ticklish. | |

Posted: 11/2/2006 4:11:08 AM | Sometimes we have an idea of what we think is attractive. It is to our own taste. However at times we meet someone who is not really "our type." I think that sometimes we can see past the "not my type" and look at the personality and see the heart and soul of the person. I would rather a person with tattoos and piercings who would treat me right than Mr. GQ.
A lot of people look at the tattoos and stop there judging that the person is of bad character because of them. I think that a lot of men with tattoos are actually very sweet and just have a rough looking exterior.
So, I guess my opinion is that it is a bit hot on the right person and even better when the tattoos mean something important to them. A stamp in time so to speak.
I would just feel weird if I dated a guy who had ladies names on him. Thank the Gods that has not happened to me.

OT.... I don't mind a few tats,I have two,one on each of the back of my shoulder,but they can be covered up if need be,but I don't like to see really over the top tats,on there faces or hands,yuk,doesn't do it for me,but on there chest or back or upper arms I think that is cool. | |

Posted: 11/2/2006 11:09:11 PM | looks like its about 50 /50 and yes I too believe they capture a moment in that persons life and have had a magor part in designing my own .Don't think I would ever tattoo my face but had my knuckles done about 6months ago,daughters name on left hand going to my heart and on right my dog that I had for 13 years and was like my son.The tracing with a finger sounds pretty cool! | |

He and I met at our art society (he's a stone carver). I did not go out with him for his tatoos; but, for his talents and skills and intelligence and - well; because he called me and invited me out for dinner one Friday night.

I don't mind one or two if they have some meaning; i.e., military or something personal and only on the arms or chest. When my daughter was very young, she saw a heavily-tattooed guy and blurted out "mommy, what's wrong with that man?" That's pretty much my reaction to this day. Totally lame, but that's JMO. | |
