| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 8:53:38 PM | My cousin is in college and has never had a boyfriend... she has male friends, she has female friends, but no boyfriend... I dont think it is that odd of a thing...
My best bud didnt really have a girlfriend until he was in college... he never thought it was odd... neither did any of us that hung together...
I think it all depends on your circumstances and your outlook...

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 8:55:05 PM | | well I have never had a bf until now, and I'm 29, so it might not be common, but its not unheard of. You shouldn't stress over finding a bf....because if all you want is a bf...you might accept someone who isn't right for you just to say you have a bf. Instead focus on you and what you want in your life, be confident, and you will attract the right type of people. | |

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 9:00:58 PM | | That is what my parents say. I just feel so left out all of my friends are dating and talking about their first kiss and all that and I just sit there because I have had none of that. | |

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 9:03:22 PM | I didn't have a girlfriend until I was 24. Things just work out that way sometimes...
I didn't go out on a date until I was I think 21 or so...
So, it's not like your some kind of pulsating anomaly to be poked and gawked at.
the giggleparts -I soaped up in the shower today... all by myself.

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 9:09:56 PM | | I mean I don't want a bf just to have one, I want someone who will like me for who I am, I just wish it would happen soon. My friends and I have drifted apart because they are always with their bf's. It is also hard because I just moved to Dallas from Colorado, the only home I had ever known, I left everything behind, so I also feel like I have to start everything over. | |

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 9:32:01 PM | Hey Frog!!
Let not your heart be troubled!!! You are not an oddball. If you are, then I am in the same boat with you!! ....and I am sure we have a lot of company. I think I was close to your age (maybe a little older) when I went out on my first real date!! (and I am 33 now).
I have been driving a truck for more than a decade,so I am somewhat familiar where you came from (Colorado) and where you are at now (Dallas). A former employer of mine (FFE) is there in Dallas.
You appear to be an inteligent, attractive girl, so please don't lose heart!! You will find somebody!! It will take time to get settled into a new area, but you can do it!!
(Incidently,If I were younger and you were closer to Kentucky..I would ask you out in a New York minute!! :-) )

Incidently, most of my trucking career was with a company down there near you. I was employed by Lisa Motor Lines (owned by FFE) for a little more than 8 years.
Have a Good Night!!
Drop me a line any time you want to chat in the future!!

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/4/2006 11:15:29 PM | | Some of us are late bloomers, that's just the way it goes, I didn't have a girlfriend until I was 19 but closer to 20. Other people around me even suspected I might be gay. It wasn't for lack of trying but I went through a lot of rejection in High School because I always went after the popular girls and in hindsight I realize that there were plenty of other girls that were interested but I just didn't seem to take note of it at the time. I was also extremely shy and somewhat immature in those days. Who knows, the perfect guy for you might be right under your nose. Just be patient and keep an open mind. | |

I am 19. I have never had a bf, and only one date when I was 16 that was a set up. I just feel so odd and alone.
Regardless of what many people say on here, looks are the most important part of dating at least in the "getting in the door" stage that is the 1st-3rd dates. Based on your profile you look appealing enough that that shouldn't be an issue.
I think very few of us are dating "studs" or whatever the female equivalent is in high school. I would give it more time if I were you before I would be concerned at all. If when you are twenty-five you are still in the same boat, then it may be time to reavaluate other things, however I would venture to guess this is very unlikely.
Good luck. | |

Posted: 11/5/2006 6:48:52 AM | hunny I'm almost 22 never had a date or a boyfriend and trust me i never want one. your completely normal and very very smart. be strong, independent and your own person, remainging single is the best way to do that. you don't need some guy around whose just going to try to change and control you anyways.

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/5/2006 7:46:56 AM | Not having a boyfriend by 19 not a huge concern. However, not dating is something else. The lack of experience will be a disadvantage when meeting that someone you really want to be serious with. They might not be a right match but the emotions of the first people you date cloud judgement. It makes for akward moments in dating as well. When I was 27 and stated dating a 20 year old who had never had a boyfriend and a date things were a bit awkward. Once I all this out, I was more understanding. However, we broke up because of her lack of experience in dating.
I say look around see someone you like and ask them out

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/5/2006 10:04:54 AM | | The choice is yours, but it seems you're not entirely comfortable with how its worked out for yu so far. College is the best time to practice initiating conversations and asking people out. After college it becomes harder because you typically don't run into the person you like often (usually only once as an adult) like you do in college. Step out of your comfort zone as long as you are respecting yourself. | |

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/5/2006 10:18:44 AM | | This may be odd but I say you are a lucky girl. I wish I could start over where you are right now. Be thankful for who you are. Boyfriends will come and go; you don't need to try and rush it. Just try to be a little more social and outgoing; but don't over do it. It will happen when you least expect. | |

| Is it odd to be 19 and never of had a boyfriend? Posted: 11/5/2006 9:11:44 PM | | Well I'm 26, almost 27 and I've never had a girlfriend before. Oh sure I've fallen in love with someone before, but that happened on vacation and she's originally from Houston. I've tried to date, eve in college but it just never seems to work out for me. I'm sure you'll have better luck than I when you start college. Best of luck to ya! | |
