So you are out on a date and let's say it's not the first but the fourth and a comfort level is beginning and we are enjoying each other's company.
What would be a simple pleasure that you would enjoy with another and to add to the thread , what are simple pleasures that you enjoy alone? | |

as a woman she should be enjoying the fact that I get the door and the chair and such, cause well I am a gentleman..
oh yeah and that I cook and bake!
in the kitchen as well...LOL | |

like.
That anxiety that you have before you meat or kiss some one.
Or
when someone sends you a comment that takes your breath away
Herring I love you, or saying I love you for the first time
Being touched by a some one new, and anticipating it.
First time you're alone in the dark together.
That first phone call.
Although firsts are great it's the one thing most of us wish would only happen once. And if we are not so fortunate, hope the next will be the last. Yet there is no doubt it is a simple pleasure. | |

Posted: 11/7/2006 3:56:13 PM | Together: Eating a fully loaded hotdog on the beach on a cool fall afternoon. Watching the waves come splashing in and watching the sand swirl about. Nathans in one hand and Dunkin Coffee in the other, favorite girl at your side, beautiful scenery surrounding you. Simply fantastic! You should try it!
Alone: Driving in the mountains, top down on the Jeep, listening to Bobby Darrin sing "La Mer" and "Mack the Knife" fully cranked up as loud as the speakers will go, and singing along as you wind back and forth on the road. Like being close to God! For me anyways.

Being offered a single flower
Playing with each others hands/entwining the fingers
A smile exchanged of pleasures to come
Feeling the sun on my face
Laying in the grass and looking for bugs together
Just knowing that we have all the time to be together and there is no rush
Simple pleasures alone
The sound of silence
No tv playing when the kids are gone
A hot soak in a bubble bath
Reading a book with no disturbance

on the clouds - My favourite time of day!

watching the river float by
the feel of the sun on my skin, making everything tingle with heat
the uncontrollable laughter of small children at play

Getting a compliment from someone who doesn't give them easily.
Lending a hand to someone, making someone's day just a little bit nicer.
My mom calling to remind me she loves me (like I could ever forget)
Spending time with friends that I haven't seen in awhile.
Learning something new and interesting.
Dusk.
The sound of the ocean at night.
Getting together with family at holidays.
Church on Christmas eve.
Looking into someone's eyes and know exactly what they're thinking...

cuddling right into his chest..sighing, and just being like that for a bit, nothing needs to be said
with my kids:
watching something really funny, like on tv, or the animals doing something stupid, and laughing till it hurts
by myself:
the smell of rain
the smell of clean towels
that first cup of coffee, knowing I won't have any interruptions, and hogging the whole pot to myself

Posted: 11/7/2006 11:25:31 PM | If alone, I do love watching the sunrise and the sunset. Even watching and listening to the tides coming in & out is something so pure and simple, yet calm and makes one become pensive. And I like that.
If there is someone beside me, hmmm ... accidental touch or brush ... that gentle lingering touch of lips ... the way he moves hair of my face as if to see better and deeper ... and then he would like to say something but words become superfluous and the distance gets shorter ... eyes turn darker ... his smell filling my nostrils ... yeah I like it very very much | |

with my daughter: listening to her laugh, tickle fights, making cookies together
by myself: a bubble bath by candlelight with a good book. | |

Simple pleasure that you enjoy alone:
When I get up in the morning - AND ACTUALLY EXCITED about when the fifth or sixth date will happen...
