Suggestion for thread deletions [Locked - Redundant]
Posted: 11/10/2006 7:48:30 AM
I did not find an existing thread that might have had a similar suggestion, therefore I am creating this one.

The problem of thread redundancy is quite a frequent one. New users are joining the site everyday and they are not fully aware of the rules of creating threads yet. Even the seasoned users don't necessarily follow those rules. Threads on some of the common topics such as older man/younger woman etc. exist from long time ago with 40+ pages worth of opinions. Each page has 25 posts so that is at least 1000 posts, if not more. However, the new users come with their fresh perspective.

Instead of continuing to post on a thread that might have been created a year or more ago, why not simply delete the threads that no longer have had any activity in "X" amount of time. That way new perspectives will not be ignored and one will not be forced to stick with the OP's question in the thread that was created eons ago.

Some of the threads that do not see as frequent postings (such as Recipes and Cooking, Jokes) can be exempt because these are things that are much more useful (to me anyway) than the opinion in the other threads.
Just my 98 cents
