| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/10/2006 7:25:35 PM | Ok, the females have been asked this question & the response varied from "I'd go shootin' with him" to "I'd call the cops, have him checked, and arrested if he wasn't allowed to have one."
So I think it begs the question:
How do you feel about women with guns? If a woman owns a gun, how long should she wait to tell a man that she has a gun?

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/10/2006 7:34:48 PM | WHAT?????? I own many guns, a S&W 357 with a 7" barrel, a S&W 32 cal revolver (antique), a 22 cal S&W semi auto with a scope to name a few. I was raised with a gun in my hand, and feel its a great hobby for either sex as long as they are educated on handling and safety. I carry a gun everyday!!! I have a permit to carry........... a 357 lady smith. Its not anyones business that I have guns or carry, its a personal choice, and if someone doesn't like me or thinks its wrong so be it........... | |

there's a huge diference between an outdoors person, who uses a rifle or shotgun for hunting; and a street punk carrying a concealed handgun or automatic weapon, as part of their criminal lifestyle
The chick who goes deer hunting with the guys, because she grew up around hunting and likes it, is likely a woman I'd be interested in.
The girl who's "packing heat" for protection, because "dangerous people" are after her, is someone to stay miles away from.

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/10/2006 9:07:25 PM | | not really - both of my children (male and female) grew up around guns. Their father was an AF cop wearing one daily and both learned how to use and handle weapons. Last year someone broke into my daughter's house and while her husband cowered in the bathroom with their three children my daughter calmly went out to meet them with her "old" 357. Cops were called and arrived to find two young men that were breaking into houses for money. No one was hurt especially my grandchildren. I don't like violence but that doesn't mean that i was not trained to deal with it - I schooled both of my children that guns are only as good or bad as the person that uses them and for the purpose acheived with them. Wish this was otherwise but glad she kept dad's old piece. | |

Friend in the military who knows guns real well (first class competition marksman) helped me pick it out, then worked with me at indoor and outdoor firing ranges.
Equipping wimmin with guns and training them respectful use, and well as in basic self-defense would be a good thing. Kinda make a serious dent in certain gender assault statistics, know what I mean?

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/10/2006 10:57:08 PM | | Ok I work in law enforcement and I have had many gentlemen complement me on the way that I can handle my S&W 9mm. I have known some gentlement to be intimidated by the fact that I can have a gun and I also have a child. I do use all safety precautions and I have also taught my daughter to be very careful around any firearm and Law Enforcement equipment. So I guess that it all depends on the person's perception of how a woman is around her firearm and how she carries herself with out her firearm with her. | |

I wouldn't want her to tell me until we got intimate and she took it out and put it on the night stand. I wouldn't say anything. I would just brag about it to my friends the next morning.

I have a few female friends that have guns, Two of them have out shot me (I think my sights were off). If a person is properly trained mentally as well as physically how to handle a firearm then I don't have an issue with it.

I don't see nothing good coming from owning a gun. Most of the women I'm attracted to are crazy, if they owned a gun, they'd be crazy and dangerous...not what I'm looking for.

I hope she has a good target range setup so I can improve my marksmanship as well!
And if she holds out to keep the range to herself, now that would bother me!

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 6:32:12 AM | I am utterly shocked at the responses to this question. All I can say is I pitty the fool who has no protection other than the household plunger to protect himself/herself when someone breaks into their home and threatens their wife/children, or assaults them in the mall parking lot. This is real people, the world we live in!!!!! Not a safe place sadly
During my lifetime, I have had 3 different occasions where someone broke in my home and got in. Oddly since "I lived at all times in a very upscale environment". I now live in middle class environment and had no problems with burglary or B&E but I'm not taking any chances with my life or my childrens.
I am prepared at all times, it is after all MY RIGHT
