| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 10:05:24 AM | The polls state that New Years Eve is one of the largest party nights of the year bringing in more revenue then what Christmas can in some comparisons.......as well people are planning for their NYE celebrations earlier and earlier in the year......
How early do you plan on what you are doing to ring in the year 2007 and what are you doing this New Years Eve ?

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 1:22:42 PM | | Does it count that out here in Alberta were talking about it even before last years party?? | |

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 4:22:10 PM | NYE has a way of leaving me feeling disappointed a lot of times... all the big buildup and expectations... but this year is going to be kinda neat for me because I'll be at the Calgary airport around 10pm that night. We are flying back home from Las Vegas that night. We're going to try and stay overnight and take the next flight back the next day. My uncle lives in Calgary and we haven't seen him in years. That would be fun!
I always preferred house parties to clubs though in general. What about the rest of you?

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 7:44:31 PM | | I've never been much for crowds and noise, so I stay home and relax with "Year of the Farce." | |

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 7:55:53 PM | I've never been a fan of New Year's eve, single or not. It's an ending that I can't avoid - ok call my therapist....I just don't like it. The whole year, done in one night! That's it, thanks for coming out, how'd you do btw? Now....New Years day!!!!! That's a different story!!!! The year is a brand new slate!!!! Totally blank, free of goals to be set, yours for the making!!!! AND FOOTBALL all day!!!! Now that's a holiday!!!!! | |
|
| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 8:24:54 PM | | I agree BarfBoy.... a whole year over in an instant.. Not only is their football on all day.. The World Juniors Hockey Championship is still running. Go Canada Go | |

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/17/2006 10:21:21 PM | me too.... I usually just stay home and hang out with the kids...
Now this year... may be a problem... my family and I have a tradition..... when Monday is a holiday, we all go to karaoke at Speedbumps and drink our faces off. My baby sis is a new year baby and last year she turned 19 and old enough to drink but this year... well... I just like to be home on new year's... too many nuts on the loose... might have to have a house party.

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 4:12:00 AM | HMMM,,,Call me strange but I have never been out on New Years,,,,never!,,,lol I am most times too busy and exausted after Christmas. New Years have always been a relaxing time, putting away the tree, getting the house tidy for the new year... And I am not much of a drinker and find most parties are just for drinking,,,,the old body can't handle it anymore,,,ohhh to be 19 again!
no thanks!,,,lol | |

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 5:03:59 AM | Well I can actually say this is the first year I will not be working on New years Eve. I have worked the last 4 years and it just comes and goes and I never get to enjoy it as much. Since i have worked on NYE the past few I took in the Second Chance NY party they have here in Fredericton - that is a primo event and well attended.
This year not sure what I will be doing maybe we will see what offers come before then

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 9:35:37 AM | I haven't done a thing on New Years Eve for over 15 years. I have often wanted to especially listening to friends talk about their plans. But as the evening approaches I am feeling less and less like going out, and am quite happy to be at home. The evening has been a special time for me. I went into labour with my first child and she, the pumpkin mess maker, was born on New Years. This year...I don't know yet what I am doing...but I am making plans and hoping they work out! | |

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 10:27:36 AM | | Great question! I don't usually plan what I'm doing until a week or 2 before. House parties are definitely better than bars/clubs, in my experience anyway. Maybe I just haven't been to the right bar??! | |
|
| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 11:51:42 AM | For New Years, a special friend and I have planned a private three day getaway to ring in the New Year with fireplace crackling and enjoying each other and shutting out the rest of the world. | |
|
| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/18/2006 1:22:21 PM | I agree with Barfboy...a whole lot of hype and it can be uber expensive!
I prefer house parties or curling up on the couch with a bottle of wine and a couple of good movies!

| New Years Eve 2006-2007 Posted: 11/20/2006 7:12:08 AM | | I've always planned big house party at my house in the past and never was dissapointed. Ringing the NY with friends and loved ones is a special event. This year, I will not be home for that day (meaning Montreal), so I have not planned what I will be doing yet. I can only assume something will come up...go with the flow as I always say...lol | |
