| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 3/29/2005 6:08:09 PM | The unfolding of current events concerning Michael Jackson has got to be one of the most tragic and strangest stories ever.
To go from the height of heights in personal success and then see a human being become so distorted inside and out, is a very tragic twilight zone-ish tale indeed. Somewhere along the line, a very talented young man became a mentally twisted delusional lost soul living in his own bubbleworld.
How did this happen?..... and is there any hope for a 46 yr old ex-backward dancer who may be soon singing "Beat It" to his fellow (romantically inclined) immates?

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 3/29/2005 6:17:50 PM | I think it's a sad story. I often wish someone had told micheal that he was beautiful and worthy of love during his formative years.
His body distortion and his strange views on sex and love (most likely from his religious upbringing that in my opinion abnormally forbade normal co-ed contact) have made him a very ODD DUCK! I'm not sure if there's any hope for the future of his career. Even if he is found not guilty, he probably won't be making any more "Thriller" hits!
I just hope he's managed to make good sound financial investments (i.e. like the Beatles licensing) that will sustain him financially until he dies. If he's smart (and if he gets acquitted) he should just move to an island and live out the rest of his life dancing to his own records.
Of course, if he's found guilty that's going to be another story ALL TOGETHER!!

I would hate to relive 1982 over and over.
No new singles, recordings and such, and the last album was horrible. Maybe the dancing on top of the SUV after his court appearance was a prelude to dancing in the streets for future coinage? Bring back Bubbles and they could have one heck of an act.

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 8/12/2009 3:14:15 PM | | MJ's story reads like a dime store novel that we’ve read dozens of times already. A person starts from humble origins and then rises to superstardom where he/she is lavished with unbridled praise and wealth. Eventually this previously humble person starts believing he's as fantastic as everyone says he is and he starts detaching himself from others. Finally, he becomes so self absorbed; rules that apply to regular people dont seem to apply to him anymore. Its a story as old as money itself. After MJ fell prey to his own demons, his money and the legions of rabid fans behind him enabled him to continue to do whatever he felt like doing. (Like taking liberties with children that he shouldn't have and keeping dangerous, illegal drugs in his home.) THIS is what killed him. Not only the drugs, but he was just too rich and famous to stop. His rabid fans don't realize or won't admit that they're part of what killed him! I was watching part of a sickening, biased, pro-MJ video on YouTube the other day. (A portion of it was all I could stomach.) This film showed MJ crying for sympathy and whining about how the mean old cops didn't care about his feelings when they arrested him. The responses from his fans were staggering. They spewed wild, hateful rebuttals about how the cops were filthy pigs and ought to be killed for treating their hero that way. I wrote back and told them that I dont know where they come from, but where I come from, life is tough. Just becuase they think MJ is a little angel, doesn't mean it's the cop's job to treat him like fine china. Cops make sure that accused offenders have a miserable time in jail so they'll never want to come back again. Then, I recalled the time I got arrested when a woman told the cops I beat her up. It was a lie, but she was mad at me and wanted to hurt me. The cops didnt care if I was innocent either. The case was dropped and I learned a lesson. It was such a lousy experience, I was more careful who I got involved with after that. Not MJ though! He got busted for the same damn thing a year or so later. He should have known better. OH BOY! Now I had the wrath of MJ's worshippers directed at me! I can't tell you how many times I was told to f**k off and kill myself. (Or worse.) MJ's story may be one we've heard before, but his fans are a Twilight Zone episode alone! His fans are so frantic right now, it's going to be hard to know what to believe for awhile. As long as MJ's name is still a cash cow for so many people, they're going to tell his fans whatever they want to hear if it persuades them to run out and buy more MJ merchandise. So bizarre! | |

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 8/12/2009 6:16:44 PM | | This thread was dead for 4 years and you resurrected it. For some one who continuously trashes him and his fans and says "not a fan of his". You talk a lot about MJ. He has taken over your life. Do you dream about him too? Do you own a white rhinestone glove? Do you do the moon walk under the moon light on the roof? Did someone hurt you when you were a little boy? You go on and on about what you think is true but your facts just don't jive. I told you before to stay away from those funny papers. Stay well Rocky | |

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 8/12/2009 6:19:01 PM | Very Sad how it ended for MJ..... Grant it, if all the allegations were correct about him with children then he was more a demon then an icon but If those allegations were False then he was prolly the Most "wronged" fella of the century.....
I think the stature of his fame was in the top 5 possibly on the top of the list , or right behind Elvis.....
The way he passed and all the other circumstances Truly fits the Bill too Op's THread "A episode of the twilight zone"

You continue to go miles out of your way to bash the guy. I thought the revival of the month old thread in the music forum was pointless, but this one hadn't been touched since the year after Bush got re-elected.

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 10/6/2009 6:01:38 PM | i still love michael jackson but he really disappointed me because i still thought that he liked or wanted women...
i read about five books on him after his death which was so enlightening, especially the last one (bob jones and stacy brown "the man behind the mask") . bob jones worked for motown for several years before leaving to work for MJ for 34 years untill he was fired without severance pay, pension or a decent phone call. his book is more factual and believable than some of the others i read in the last 2 months : ian halperin (claims mj was gay....a rag book), margaret maldonado (sister n law- was married to jermaine who left her for randy's mexican wife) "jackson family values ", diane dimone "be careful who you love", "all that glitter isn't gold " raymond chandler ( uncle to the 1st boy that accused mj of molestation) and final "the magic and madness by taraborrelli who use to run mj's fan club and diana ross's.
i just hope and pray he is finally at peace.

| The Michael Jackson Story (would have made one heck of a twilight zone episode) Posted: 10/16/2009 5:03:09 PM | | Sure, MJ was a great musician. Trouble is, nobody made him grow up. Getting arrested should have informed him that his behavior had gotten inappropriate, even criminal, but he stubbornly insisted that he wasn't doing anything wrong, even though he defiantly engaged in activities considered taboo in our society. He appeared to have no concept of how the law applied to him. He was convinced he wasn't hurting any kids. He figured he was making them feel reaaal good. Fame and his dysfunctional upbringing stunted MJ's growth. While his fans assumed that giving him a great big hug would fix everything; it was clear that he needed a lot more than that. He was way past due for a reality check. If sending him to jail was too severe, he definitely needed to be spanked with some intensive therapy. He had the reasoning skills of a little boy. Peter Pan needed to grow up and kissing away his boo-boos wasn't going to get the job done! | |
