What to do with old wedding rings?Page 1 of 6    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
A friend of mine had this dilema and buried hers in the park that she was married in 15 years prior. I think a belly button ring or using it as a fishing lure would be putting it to good use, what do you think?

A few new rings out of one? Wow, big ring. I like the fishing lure better, after all you are here to cast a lure.

"just give them away"

could care less about the diamond or the gold.....the intent of the rings was broken when the vows were........to me they are valueless and I don't want them.

A ring with meaning..........no matter the monetary value........priceless!

My mom gave me hers after the divorce, and she has my grandmother's. You never know, your children may want them for some reason or other...

Melt them down, mold them into teeth, and then record a rap album. That's what I did.

Nice diamond earrings and a pennant . Still can be an heirloom if the kids want them after I am gone.

No point in not using perfectly lovely diamonds!

I'm with c-note: I'd hand it down to my children. They can't divorce their relatives, and may treasure it. It IS still valuable, after all.

Guess you never heard this one, Marriage is a three ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffe-ring.

Mine are lost in my house somewhere. i put them somewhere for safekeping, and it was sooooo safe......well you get the point! I would like to sell mine to a jeweller though and buy another ring for myself- I do miss wearing a ring. I don't have kids with my ex-husband. if I did, I would hang on to my rings to pass down.

My wedding rings from my divroce, are in a jewellery box and I haven't looked at them since the day I took them off. No idea what I will do with them. My friends often say that's my retirement fund.

My engagement ring from when my fiance died, is locked in a safety deposit box and I will not look at that one. Sometimes memories are best locked up and put away.

Pawn it, then spend the money on stupid shit.

No seriously, I think it depends how you feel about the past marriage. If you dislike the person, do the above. If you are still on ok terms keep it.

Doesn't matter really, it means nothing anymore, I think.

Apparently my ex had a feeling I'd pawn them or something, I didn't realize till after that he took them with him when he left.
Totally fine by me, he never asked me to marry him, just bought the rings and expected me to wear them with a big smile...uhh I dont think so

Hopefully he will give them to his next gf, so i can exclaim how beautiful my rings look on her

I had his and after ten years I gave it a friend....I didn't want that ring in my jewlerey box anymore.....didn't want to pawn it......that's part of the reason I got divorced......cant/don't want to find him....yup a friend....I don't think the fish would have liked it as a lure.

Plus I don't like gold anyways........not the regular kind

Don't know where mine went...oh ya he probably pawned them for his habit.....

Put them on a chain and hang them around your neck as a warning to the next guy who even thinks about breaking you heart.

^^^ I couldn't agree with you more Sweet... I threw mine in the drink... some fishy will have eaten gold and diamonds and when the fish is caught, they'll find the rings.... I think
