**THE VENUE**
I telephoned the venue yesterday and have spoken to the manager (Tom) about having a meet there. They are quite happy to have large groups of people, but because of where it is, ie in the middle of the West End and right in the middle of China Town they cant give us our own space.The earlier we all get there ,the bigger area we can make our own!
I was told that its best to turn up between 7.00 - 7.30 before it gets too busy, after that as its very popular, people often have to queue!
Entry before 9.30 pm is free! Door prices are £4.00 rising to £8.00 depending on how late you get there.So we would advise you to get there EARLY!
 prices are cheap for the west end; eg A pint of Carling is £2.35 and a short is £3.00.
This place is very good for a few reasons, one being that it has three floors, the top floor havng a dj and dance floor. The middle floor plays music too, but its quieter and people can chat or dance! The venue is open till three in the morning, so again it means people who want to stay late and dance wont have to move venues like last time!
We will be holding our do on the MIDDLE floor! There are two cloakrooms so people who bring coats etc will be able to put them in there if they wish!
EVERYONE will be asked to wear name label/badges.These will have your PLENTY OF name on, you CANNOT Just have your christian name written on it but you can have BOTH,if you so choose.Without your POF name there is no way of naming you for pics or if someone wants to search for you on the site,it is nearly impossible!

**IDENTIFYING US**
We all have Id Badges, xxmistyxx POF host,Hams the hitman and Magacoctail POF host.They are not all the same,as they are from previous events!
xxmistyxx- I will be wearing my official POF T-shirt
-Hams- Will be wearing his official POF T-shirt!
Magacoctail will be in Fancy dress
I (xxMistyxx) will have at least ONE FISH BALLOON possibly two!So that EVERYONE will be able to LOCATE us EASILY.
**DRESS CODE**
SMART/CASUAL Jeans and trainers are allowed into the venue but not scruffy ones!!
**SAFETY**
Please tell someone where you are going.
Plan your route back home or to the hotel.
Seperate your money,incase you lose your purse or wallet, enabling you to still get home safely!
Mobile phone theft and street robberies are on the increase,so PLEASE be aware of those around you!
Watch your drinks and cigs,do not leave drinks unattended,if you have to the use facilities,then drink up before you go,take it with you or buy another on your return!!!

Photos will be taken on the night and displayed on POF afterwards!

This venue was chosen because it had been used before and when I read the thread about how the meet went it was very successful! After discussing it with Hams( who had co-hosted the meet there previously) and Magacoctail who (co-hosted the last meet in Dec with myself) it was decided to go back there!!
We three as hosts, have had successful meets ,so no reason why we should not again!
The thing that become apparent from hosting these meets is this everyone wants to have their own booked party space at a venue or even a venue to themselves.
It near impossible to find anywhere or any manager, willing to to do that in central London,without firstly having to pay a hefty charge per person as a deposit.
I believe that if we can first find a venue suitable to hold meets then we can work on getting out ultimate goal,of our own booked space in the future.Hopefully this venue will be such a place!! If it is not ,then we will have to keep looking!
If meets are held regularly at the same place and the manager can see how many people attend on a regular basis,they will then be more likely give us our own space!
We will only be able to make this happen,if members attend and future hosts continue to build,on what has been done before.!
This can only work if members of POF pull together and aim towards the same goal,it will not happen over night!!!!
Hope this answers the question of "Why not our own space?"

Just a thaught : Fancy dress sounds great, and I really enjoy F/D parties,but it only really works if everyone wears it... and in a shared venue, anyone in fancy dress is going to attract interest and hassle from every drunken idiot there... I'm not convinced that it would work unless we had our own exclusive area.

Well after speaking to the Manager, although we will not have our own official area, if we all get there early enough,then by numbers alone we will have our own area.
If that makes sense!
Fancy dress is optional and I would say that In my own opinion that I would not see it causing any problems.Many hen nights and stag dos go into pubs in fancy dress,Without any problems usually! I would like to say that I have discussed fancy dress with the manager and he sees no problems with it.
If you are going to get any idiots ,you could meet them in any pub,in any attire,any where and on any night!
I think It will be ok!

Posted: 12/8/2006 1:20:02 PM | | INFORMATION FOR YOU TRAVELLERS...You can walk to oneils from charring cross station,or nearest tube is covent garden...to be honest its easier and quicker to walk...Night busses can be caught from charring cross station,but you must purchase a ticket before you board the bus or you can use your travel permits...Hotels,holiday inn or travel lodge are the only ones i know,reasonably priced with bathroom and clean...other hotels that are cheap usually dont have an on suite...Hope this helps peeps...Car parking,hum dont bother as really expensive and if you can find a place...bye for now.xx | |

but its a great mix of people in here and like Misty says its got 3 floors..bottom one being the Pub type and the top the dance floor but it all gets mixed up after a few beers and you just dance anywhere..
Its over 3months away so havent signed up yet as i will hopefully be married by this point and honeymooning in weston super mare..but if im about will be going. | |

I have attended one London meet,spirit price £6.50 and hosted one London meet so far,the spirit price was £2.35 at the last meet. The spirit price in this pub is £3.00.So I think that considering the pub is in the West end. Prices are more than reasonable!
