I AM LOOKING FOR - Definitions
The following are the general and "INTENDED" definitions of the choices available in your profile - your interpretation may vary, yet they should suffice for the majority of people.
The following types would be characteristic of non-platonic type relationships, all "include" some sort of intended physical desire:
- Long Term
Obvious, yet would imply that one has to go through some dating phase before one defines it as long term, the important part to note is that the intent is for a long term monogamous relationship and up to the individuals to further define as to the end result.
- Dating
If you don't subscribe to the above notion, then this category would be for people who just want to enjoy non-exclusive relationships with a wide variety of people. There is no intent on a long term commitment, but maybe if they should meet the right person, it can turn into a LT. Ask them if that possibility exists, rather than assuming.
- Intimate Encounter
A strictly physical relationship with no emotional attachment, usually - define your own terms.
The next 4 options, would be characteristic of platonic type relationships.
All involve somewhere between non-strenuous activities to more physical activities. Examples would be, movies, dining, clubs, sports, travel, companion, occupational networking etc. All would of course, also be considered as developing some friendship aspect.
- Friends
- Hang Out
- Activity Partner
- Talk/Email
The last one is pretty much up to you to define, either in your profile or in contacting another member, if nothing above fits
- Other
When the term "other" is used as a stand alone choice in any drop down selection choice, it simply means that - "other" than what is listed from the prior selections.
However, given that the phrase "Other Relationship" is thrown about in everyday usage with the connotation of an "open" , "sexual no strings attached" or "alternative to a mainstream" relationship, one should be advised to select this option with care, given its different meanings and how it's used in this context.
Having said this, and given that an Intimate Encounter option already exists, there would be no need to categorize a second version of an Intimate Encounter option, hence if you were to select this, one should further define what it means to you in your about me section of your profile so as to make it crystal clear.
Also important to note is that where these choices lead to, can be elsewhere than one has stated.

Including email/chat as they say thats cyber sex and the men just want to talk dirty. LMAO! I am not kidding! Hang Out is sex according to them. Activity partner is sex activities. Friends is FWB etc...
I have copied that into threads and copy and pasted and they all disagree. I dont think that would help being linked to a profile.

Regardless of what any so called "Ask A ___" forum live-in "experts" think, the above are the Intended meanings.
I have copied that into threads and copy and pasted and they all disagree.
Statistics from a few threads at 20 replies per, is nothing to even warrant a blink of an eye at let alone quote from.
Is there any way to get a link to these on a profile?
Some sort of guidance would be a good idea, and I'd even go as far as reducing them to just 3 or 4 actual classifications.

Must have been removed along with Short Term at some point due to them being useless categories as there is lots of overlap between some of them - I've amended my post.
