| True Ontarian Posted: 12/13/2006 1:25:14 PM | You know you are a true Ontarian if: 1. You consider it a sport to drill through 36" of ice and sitting there all day hoping that food will swim by. 2. You measure distance in hours. 3. You know several people who have hit a deer more then once. 4. You switch from "heat" to "A/C" the same day and back again. 5. You can drive 100km/h through 2 feet of snow in a blizzard, without flinching. 6. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit. 7. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow. 8. You know all 4 seasons: Almost winter, Winter, Still winter and Road construction. 9. Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce. 10.You have more miles on your snow blower then your car. 11.You find 0degrees "a little chilly" 12.If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time.
Sorry had to share these when I got them.

| True Ontarian Posted: 12/13/2006 2:05:59 PM | | Reminds me of a small story my Screen Printing teacher told in my class that when he went to Las Vegas to a Tradeshow one year in December. His friend who lived in the southern states was walking beside him saying "Man it's chilly out", and he said "What are ya talking about? it's great!" while wearing shorts. | |

| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 7:29:34 AM | Ontario where the beer store is really called "The Beer store" Wonder how many tax dollars were used to think that one up. Ontario, were you can live in the north and work in the south. ( how do people drive fromBarrie to Toronto everyday?). | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 7:36:17 AM | heheheheh very funny indeed and mostly relatable to most of us for sure!!! I have certainly been one of those people who has the heat and air going in the same day - I thought it was menopause!! hehehehe | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 8:18:44 AM | Whoaaa! Barrie is NOT the North!!!!! Flip your map of ONtario over, there's another half of the province up here...... | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 8:24:20 AM | | I dont know how many people have asked me how far something was and when i responded with "oh about an hour" they said okay well how far in km, so here i am with a dumbass look on my face...."well its an hour away" lmao | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 8:31:12 AM | | I know Barrie isn't the north. At one time it felt like it. Now it's just Toronto with SUV's and snow. | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 8:40:02 AM | My heating bill was $68 last month. That's for a 60 year old 5 bedroom house.
I find 55F toasty warm :p))
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 8:46:45 AM | Other wonderous things about being an Ontarian:
1. Our Beer Stores and Liquor Stores are SEPERATE!!!
2. The mass exodus in the spring and summer, every friday evening, towards cottage country.
3. Thinking that Barrie is the north lmao.
4. Jogging in minus 40 degree weather, not to get inside somewhere, but JUST TO STAY IN SHAPE.
5. Driving to Buffalo or Detroit because we consider them 'great weekend getaway's'.
I tried lol | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 9:00:15 AM | My "Best Ontario Moment Ever" happened yesterday, when I wore my jean jacket. Yup, that's right. Mid-december...green grasss, sun shining...I wore shades and a jean jacket. Oh yeah, it's great to be in Ontario, this week! ;)
You know you've been here too long when you pray that Christmas is GREEN!

| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 11:12:07 AM | | Having Yogi the bear and BooBoo , invade your picnic basket when camping, while Mr. Ranger is having coffee and donuts at Timmies. | |
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 12:00:49 PM | We also have duct tape ready for any occasion including instant repairs on Christmas morning because we don't read the instructions before putting the items together.
Walk indoors, and outdoors too, with our right elbow into our ribs with forearm extended. This lets our hand form a sideways letter C which is perfect for putting a cup of coffee in.
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/15/2006 3:36:40 PM | You ignore people and walk with your head own praying no one will say hello
You see a cop run over a pedestrian because they didn't have the right of way. You side with the cop.
|
| True Ontarian Posted: 12/16/2006 9:39:42 AM | | Somebody walks into you and you say you're sorry. | |
