Join fellow PoF people for a night of karaoke at O'Brien's for New Year's Eve!
$10 in advance (buy your tickets at O'Brien's) or at the door - this event is open to the public so it may sell out early. For your $10, you get karaoke, munchies and a glass of champagne at midnight. There may be silly hats and noisemakers, too. 
Dog & Pony Sound has a huge catalogue that you can view online - and you can even print out song slips beforehand.
Sing or don't sing, it's your choice, but come along and meet some new people. Laugh, dance  , sing, and applaud. Hoist a beverage or two  , eat  , and have loads of fun.
Remember, sometimes you applaud because you appreciate the perfomance, and sometimes you applaud because you're glad it's over!
O'Brien's is on Heron near Bank, Karaoke starts at 9:30 pm to 1:30 am, Sunday December 31, 2006 and ends in 2007!
The address is 1145 Heron Rd., just west of Bank St. Free parking in the lot - and on-street parking one block away or in the lot at Canadian Tire.  
NOTE: There are stairs to get into the restaurant and the washrooms are down a flight of stairs.

I'm sure that more people will sign up soon. Some will never sign up, but just show up and join in the festivities. The regular crowd at O'Brien's is pretty good, too!

Posted: 12/19/2006 5:44:50 AM | I already have plans for New Years HOWEVER I would like to tell anybody who hasn't been to a D&P show or O'Briens that D&P is the best karaoke in Ottawa and O'Briens is a fantastic place to go for this wonderful karaoke.
I have been there so often I used to be a regular (but then I got a BF and well..... lol )
I'm sure you will all have a great time there and have a wonderful New Years

I've been to a lot of karaoke shows in Ottawa - and D&P Sound sure gets my vote for the best catalogue (over 10,000 songs in the Song Bible - and the catalogue is available online), best hosts, best sound ...  All of their music is legal (no burned disks) and their hosts all well trained in the fair rotation procedure.
Dinner is NOT included in your $10 ticket - but the kitchen is open and they'll be happy to make you anything you would like from the regular menu. They make great wings and zucchini, and fabulous pizza, as well as the standard fare of hamburgers and fries. | |

I will try to make it! As I mentioned to you outside of here I cant make any promisses as it is a hectic time of year but I really enjoy talking with you and meeting other such wonderful people who attend these gatherings.

Posted: 12/23/2006 9:56:03 PM | Umm, Sofaking, I just want to point out that we still have no snow - and it's tough to have a snowball fight without it. I could scrape the frost off the inside of my freezer, but I don't think we could make very many snowballs from it.

Yes, Party Monroe, they do make terrific pizza! I like their wings and zucchini sticks, too.

Posted: 12/25/2006 6:38:14 PM | I'm sure you're better than you think - and we'll applaud your courage, if not your singing! I don't drink enough to get over the stage fright, so I rarely sing at karaoke unless the place is empty. It won't be empty on New Year's Eve.
I'm very good at clapping, though.

But wait, Best pizza is Louis pizza and Nate's, then it's Gabriel's, there once was a place called BEST Pizza and they really did have the best. wounder if anyone knows the way it was made?

The round tables are the ones with high chairs or benches - the lower square tables have regular chairs. Some people prefer one over the other. The tall round tables are better if people are moving around and changing places.
Yes, a lot of the regulars plan to be there (I'm one of them). I bought my ticket early.
Look for me when you arrive - you know what I look like - and I'll have places saved for at least the number who have signed up by then plus your guest. I may swing by O'Brien's tonight and make a reservation to be sure. | |

Posted: 12/30/2006 5:00:51 PM | I checked last night and they're not taking reservations for tables for New Year's Eve. It's first come, first served, so I hope to be there quite early to secure tables.
Feel free to join me early in the evening - I plan to arrive between 8 and 8:30 pm.
If you have your ticket already, you will get in. | |
