I mean REALLY suck, like 90% tape.. take her like 20 minutes to open the thing... lol.. Now, I'm not one of those guys who are going to run to the mall and actually PAY someone to wrap it, and she'd know if it was too perfect looking it wasn't me who did it, but... this is bad =)... So who else sucks at wrapping ?.=)

go on a huge frenzied shopping spree...get it all done...hand over all your goodies to the nice girls behind the counter...hit the drinking hole in the mall and indulge in some christmas cheer with your fellow shoppers.....drink and be merry....go pick up your gifts lookin' all pretty.....and drop those girls a $20.....
tis the season.......
ps....wrapping doesn't matter to girls...as long as you aren't using duct tape, you'll be fine....:)

The $5 or less it costs you pays off in the smile you are going to get. They are impressed if you spend the doe to get the pro wrapping, shows some romantism. It's not cute like a child who does a poor job. Get the PRO wrap.

Get a nice bow to put on it or something and make her close her eyes. Give her a little kiss and place it in her hands. When she opens her eyes say "I suck at wrapping presents".
I'd be charmed by something like that.

Take heart..I suck at gift wrapping, too. Gift bags are wonderful, because you dont have to cut your finger on the tape dispenser every time you go to get a piece of tape.
Merry Christmas!!! | |

| The gf is going to discover my deep dark secret at christmas...... Posted: 12/17/2006 2:59:59 PM | There is still hope! We used to have "wrap parties." We met at a home, or a few times splurged on a motel room (the conference room is great for this!) and each brought paper, tape, etc. There are also people with ads posted on the boards in places that will do the wrapping for you.
There is nothing wrong with using 8 rolls of tape to wrap a box containing a pair of earrings, nor is there anything wrong with using duct tape, masking tape, electrical tape, or a hot glue gun.

| The gf is going to discover my deep dark secret at christmas...... Posted: 12/17/2006 3:00:11 PM | LOL
Use the duck tape, round and round and round and lots of it. HE HE HE Makes opening presents last longer and you can sit back and get a good giggle.
And for the "BIG" gift...you know the one...we all get are ladies the "BIG" gift...
Get several boxes from small to big, put the gift inside smallest box and duck tape the heck out of it, then move up to next size box, place gift inside and repeat.....do this over and over...When she gets to the inside she will appreciate it even more...
It’s fun to start something like this and makes for a fun day; one thing is for sure, she will never forget how you wrap presents that for sure. I have never seen anybody give up opening a duck tape present, swirm and wine yes...but never give up...really brings out the kid inside of all of us.
My only word of caution what goes around comes around and I bet ya she will get even with ya next year…
Have a great Christmas and have fun...
Cheers

I dont remember when i got something wrapped like that.I don't think you have anything to worry about, and if she doesnt like it, then she doesn't appreciate what a nice guy she has in her life.

| The gf is going to discover my deep dark secret at christmas...... Posted: 12/17/2006 3:01:53 PM | You are kidding me, THAT is your scintillating dark secret? I was almost on the edge of my seat... and then deflated!
It was hardly worth unwrapping my flake chocolate bar and dipping it in my non-diary-cinnamon capaccino ... and being excited about reading this... I rolled up the wrapping and threw it at you! and muttered under my breath!

Posted: 12/17/2006 3:02:32 PM | But if you are seriously looking for advice... then the best is this... try the most beautiful paper, it is recycled, and it is made of flowers, leaves as well as paper... sometimes the paper is so stunning that I think I would love it on my walls just so entrancing... I save it whenever I can and cut it into small strips to use as book marks... It is so beautiful that brown string, or dried grass stems and a sprig of lavender or misseltoe or ivy, and to be brutal - holly - tres chic! finishes it off with aplomb!

Posted: 12/17/2006 3:07:28 PM | | This is priceless...I am the "family joke" when it comes to wrapping gifts - I am a bad, bad wrapper...in fact, I have a reputation for wrapping in ductape, tinfoil, newspaper, and everybody ALWAYS knows which gift is from me, no card needed! The worst of it is, I try really really hard!!!! Thank God for premade bags!!

If you did take your presents to the mall to get wrapped, you could give her a reason to be suspicious of the package with some suspensefull forshadowing. You could drop hints of dark secrets to heighten the moment of unwrapping the present.
I'm bad at wrapping packages, but I've found that irregular patterns in the paper hide things well. The Sunday funnies are good paper to use.

Get it gift wrapped or ask a friend/relative who is a competent wrapper if it bothers you. I'd appreciate it if I had a gift-wrapping challenged bf and he got it wrapped up special for me. He went the extra mile, you know, thought it was important enough to present it nicely. It's kind of a turn-off to get a present from a grown man that looks like an 8 year old wrapped it. Just my 2 cents.

but it is kinda a girly thing, I don't expect any guy to be great at wrapping presents, thats what gift bags are for! Mind you this year I went all lazyass and did the gift bag thing myself.

| The gf is going to discover my deep dark secret at christmas...... Posted: 12/17/2006 3:44:48 PM | Here is another trick.......
Go get some wall paper...You heard me...WALL PAPER, the thinker the better... You can pick it up at Wal-Mart for next to nothing.
Put your gift inside of a plastic bag or wrap in up in saran wrap or a zip lock bag as you don't want water to get in and ruin your gift...
Read the instructions that come with the wallpaper...and then have fun...
Remember THICKER THE PAPER THE BETTER, and soak down the outside of the box real good before applying the paper so it sticks really well. Use a spay bottle and set it to a mist.
For best results, repeat twice, one layer on top of another layer.
This is one that drives the ladies bonkers as when it hardens it is a real pain to open.
Oooooo I am bad...
Cheers, and

| The gf is going to discover my deep dark secret at christmas...... Posted: 12/17/2006 3:52:22 PM | How to wrap a gift:
http://www.ehow.com/how_8019_wrap-gift.html
Gift bags can be found in a considerable range of sizes. Buy the bag, a bow and matching ribbon, brightly colored matching or contrasting colored tissue paper, and a card.
Wrap the item in the tissue paper and pad with additional tissue if the item is fragile.
Attach bow to top side of gift bag. Cut lengths of ribbon and attach to gift bag handles. Take scissors, open them, hold one blade, sharp edge toward you, place thumb on edge, with fingers of same hand curled under the dull side of blade. Carefully place ribbon between thumb and sharp edge of scissor blade, applying firm pressure, pull ribbons thru thumb/scissor blade contact point. Idea is to 'scrape' one side of ribbon - this causes the ribbon to curl into festive curlie cues. Sign card, place in envelope, put in bag with tissue warped present. Tie gift bag handles closed with a little extra ribbon at top of gift bag handles. Voila.
